    摘要: A flow sensing fuel system for multiple port fuel injection gasoline engines, gasoline direct injection engines, or common rail diesel engines include a flow monitoring device positioned in a fuel flow passage between a fuel pump and a fuel rail, a fuel pressure sensor in fluid communication with said fuel rail, and a controllable pressure regulator closing to a fuel tank. By integrating flow monitoring device, fuel pressure sensor, and controllable pressure regulator in existing fuel systems, a flow sensing fuel system is provided that protects the engine and limits the fuel leaking into the environment in case of a stuck open condition or sealing problem of one or more injectors or in case of a leak in the fuel rail assembly. The flow sensing fuel system enables monitoring the fuel flow during engine start-up, during engine operation, and after engine shut down.

    摘要: An electromagnetic fuel injector has an orificed fuel director plate, mounted downstream of a solenoid actuated valve and an associated main orifice passage opened and closed by the valve, to receive fuel when the valve is pulled to an open position from its associated valve seat for controlling and directing flow from the injector. The upper surface of the orifice director plate is provided with a fuel distributing channel system terminating in separate pairs of cooperating injection orifices that are disposed adjacent to one another to direct adjacent jets of fuel which partially intersect one another producing discrete cones of atomized fuel accurately onto separate fuel intake valves of a piston cylinder of an internal combustion engine.

    摘要: A dual-coil outwardly-opening fuel injector including a fuel tube connected at a lower end to a lower injector housing. Within the fuel tube are a lower (opening) solenoid pole piece, a specially-formed armature, and an upper (closing) solenoid pole piece. A seat assembly including an injector nozzle, swirler, and valve seat are adjustably threaded into the lower housing. A pintle assembly, including a solid pintle portion supporting a valve head and a tubular portion welded thereto, is axially disposed within the fuel tube and is welded to the armature which is spaced from the lower pole piece by a distance equal to the opening stroke of the valve. A return spring adjustment mechanism disposed on the upper pole piece engages the upper end of the pintle assembly for varying the closing force of the return spring. Opening and closing solenoid preassemblies are mounted external to the fuel tube for magnetically engaging the pole pieces and armature within in known fashion.

    摘要: The armature and active seat of an electromagnetic PWM valve are selectively case hardened at their contacting surfaces to a case depth of approximately 0.50 mm. The hardened areas provide hard contacting surfaces for superior durability, and moreover, create an effective air gap between the armature and the active seat to substantially prevent residual magnetism therebetween. The remaining surfaces of the armature and seat assembly are not hardened, and serve as a low reluctance magnetic flux path around the hardened areas.
