    摘要: A process for shaping glass sheets with a surface-shaping mould, against which the glass sheets are pressed using a pressure drop produced by sucking out the air from the space lying between the moulding face and that face of the glass sheet on the opposite side from the glass sheet, in which the pressure drop is a maximum at the edge of the glass sheet and decreases towards the center of the glass sheet, because of fact that air is introduced via air-inlet apertures opening into the moulding face, the air is again extracted by subjecting suction apertures made in the moulding face inside the region covered by the respective glass sheet to a vacuum. Furthermore, pressure between the glass sheet and the moulding face also in the region where the air is introduced is set to a value at most equal to the pressure beyond the glass sheet, in order to avoid any formation of bulging. A shaping mould suitable in particular for implementing this process is also described.

    摘要: A device used for the bending of plate glass sections (3) includes an oven (1), a bending chamber (6), an upper bending mold installed in the bending chamber (6) in such a manner as to be able to be raised and lowered, a duct producing a flow of hot gas in order to raise the plate glass sections (3) against the upper bending mold, a lower bending mold in the form of a frame that works together with the upper bending mold to ensure bending by compression of the plate glass that is held by the flow of hot gas against the upper bending mold, as well as a movable transport frame (20) which is used to pick up the bent plate glass from the upper bending mold and to transport it to a cooling station located downstream. The lower bending mold in the shape of a frame is comprised of individual frame segments (9, 10, 11, 12) which can be moved between a closed position defining said lower bending frame and an open position in which the segments are separated from one another by such a distance that the upper bending mold can pass through the space defined within the separated segments.

    摘要: During a process for bending and quenching a window pane, the latter is bent to the desired shape using a forming frame. Next, by means of this same forming frame, the entire surface of both sides of the bent window pane is rapidly cooled, in a quenching station which follows the bending station, by blowing cold air using blowing boxes provided with blowing nozzles. While the entire surface is being rapidly cooled, the edge regions of the window pane which rest on the forming frame are subjected to a blast of additional cold air by the suitable supply of compressed air to the openings passing through the forming frame.

    摘要: A method of bending glass panes heated to their softening temperature in the horizontal position. The panes are heated to their bending temperature in a furnace. The panes are brought between a concave bending frame having shaping surfaces that describe a smaller contour than dimensions of the panes, and a convex upper form with a solid surface. The panes are pressed between the bending frame and the upper form so that the panes assume, at least at certain points, the contour of the upper form. A ring-shaped final-bending frame having shaping surfaces that correspond to the final shape of the panes is brought into contact with the protruding marginal regions of the panes, and the panes are pressed against the upper form. The panes on which the bending operation has been completed are subjected to a cooling or quenching treatment.

    摘要: A production installation for the contact toughening of glass sheets comprises a horizontal furnace for heating the glass sheets, a press containing two liquid-cooled pressing plates, a feed apparatus for transferring the heated glass sheets into the press and a removal apparatus for removing the toughened glass sheets out of the press. To the lower pressing plate, a solids-transmitted sound pick-up is coupled which, if a glass sheet breaks in the press, supplies an electrical signal. From this signal, after suitable processing of the signal, the control device is triggered, and as a result thereof interrupts the process sequence.

    摘要: A loading device for a horizontal continuous furnace for the heating of glass plates comprises a roller conveyer (6) as part of a continuous conveying system. Support strips (12-15, 32-35) can be lowered and are arranged between conveying rollers (7) of the roller conveyer at a feed station (A). The glass plates (2, 3, 4, 5) are placed on the raised support strips (12-15, 32-35) and are lowered onto the conveying rollers at a preset time by simultaneous lowering of all support strips. Each support strip (12-15, 32-35) is supported independently of the other support strips on separate lifting devices (16-19, 36-39). These lifting devices (16-19, 36-39) are controlled by reflecting photoelectric barriers (22-25, 42-45) respectively dedicated to each support strip such that each support strip (12-15, 32-35) is individually raised to an upper position as soon as a glass plate transferred to the conveying rollers (7) has left the area of that support strip. Glass plates (4, 5) coming from another feed station (B), located upstream, pass below the raised support strips (14, 15) while, simultaneously, the next glass plates can be placed on these same support strips (14, 15).
