摘要： A dust proof electric switch is provided for use in a dynamoelectric machine employing a centrifugal acuator having a terminal board with a cup formed therein in which a fixed contact point and terminal are mounted. A pivotable switch arm having a contact point attached thereto is mounted to the arm and extends above and cantilevered across the terminal board so that pressure on the switch arm from the centrifugal acuator causes the contact points to touch thereby closing the circuit. An open ended, resilient, flexible boot is affixed to the cup and extends upward between the terminal board to snuggly abut the switch arm and completely enclose the contact points when they are touching and when they are apart thereby protecting the contact area from dust and debris as well as containing sparks within the boot. The terminal board contains stops which serve to maintain alignment of the switch arm.

摘要： A dynamoelectric machine (10) has no external leads. A stator assembly (12) includes at least one set (14) of electrical windings (16) terminable at each end. A rotor assembly (18) includes a rotatable shaft (22) and the stator and rotor assemblies are installed in a housing (24). A terminal block (38) is internal of the housing and the ends of the winding set are terminated in this block. The housing has an opening (114) therein through which the termination unit is accessible. A receptacle (102) to which external electrical wires (W1, W2) are connected is matingly connectable to the material block through the opening to connect the machine to the external electrical wires.

摘要： A dynamoelectric machine (M) has a terminal board (T) on which electrical connections are made by attaching various electrical elements (1, 5) together so, that an electrical connection is made between them. A fastener 13 is used to physically make the attachment. A spacer (25) fits on and is compressed about the fastener to permanently attach the elements and insure that electrical integrity between them is maintained. The elements cannot be subsequently loosened by connection and disconnection of other elements to the board, or by an element rotating relative to the fastener.

摘要： A switch assembly for use with a centrifugal actuator in the start winding circuit of a dynamoelectric machine (1). The switch has a pair of electrical contacts (29, 33) contained in a pliable, bellows-like enclosure (37) for protection from foreign matter. The assembly includes a terminal board (19) having an electrically conductive post (28) mounted thereon and comprising one side of the switch. A second contact, comprising the other side of the switch, is directly above the first and is surrounded by an electrically conductive cap (32). The cap is affixed between the ends of an electrically conductive, cantilevered switch arm (16) which is biased against a vertically rigid, horizontally adjustable stop (45). The stop has one end rigidly mounted to the terminal board and its other end above and in contact with the switch arm where the cap is affixed to the arm. The bias is caused by the switch arm support structure at the fixed end being attached to the terminal board at an angle. Moving the end of the stop contacting the arm toward the support structure, decreases the gap between the switch contacts, while moving the end of the stop towards the free end of the switch arm increases the gap.

摘要： A downhole well tool is provided which includes a shifting sleeve for opening a flow communication port. The well tool includes first and second primary seal elements positioned upstream and downstream, respectively, of the port as well as upstream and downstream of the threaded connections between the well tool and sections of tubing forming the well flow conduit. A fluid diffuser element may be included to abate flow damage across the primary seal elements during the shifting of the sleeve. A method of selectively transmitting fluid incorporating said well tool also is disclosed.

摘要： A seal for use in temperature and pressure extremes is disclosed. It features springs internal to the sealing members and the ability to seal against pressure differentials from opposed directions. A spacer ring prevents contact from oppositely oriented seal components and at the same time prevents spring and seal collapse under extreme loading conditions. The seal assembly is self-centering in a downhole seal bore and can be used on tools delivered on wireline, where the insertion forces available are at a minimum. The seal can withstand pressure differentials in excess of 13,500 PSI and temperatures above 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

摘要： A terminal board for a dynamoelectric machine is mounted to an end-shield of the machine. The terminal board has securing means for fixing an electrical switch to the terminal board using a single conventional fastener. A second snap-in arrangement is provided in place of additional fastener. The terminal board includes an arm spaced from the fastener hole. The arm is spaced above a surface of the terminal board and defines a slit with the terminal board through which an ear of the switch extends. A finger extends down from a free end of the arm to define a stop which maintains the switch ear in the slot. The finger and the single fastener together fix the switch to the terminal board.

摘要： An electric cable joint (including a termination) comprises at least one inner component heat-shrunk onto a cable or on to at least one part of a cable and at least one outer component of resilient material which is an interference fit with the inner component(s). The heat-shrink component takes up considerable variation in the size of the underlying cable (or part thereof) so that a range of cable sizes can be accommodated by a much smaller number of inner component sizes than in a purely "slip-on" range.
