摘要: An Adaptive Position Transmission Algorithm (APTA) for mobile radio device where position information is required, using any transmission medium such as high frequency (HF), very high frequency (VHF), ultra high frequency (UHF), Satellite Communications (SATCOM), etc. A mobile radio device employing the APTA provides accurate and automatic position reporting and thus, in a tactical environment improves situation awareness and reduces the probability of fratricide. A mobile radio device employing the APTA also reduces the number of options available to the user thereby simplifying the operation thereof while improving overall performance in most applications. The APTA accomplishes this by monitoring position, time and radio network parameters to determine when stand alone messages will be transmitted. The APTA factors radio network loading with movement and periodic thresholds. As radio network loading increases, the movement and periodic thresholds are increased to reduce the impact of position reporting on the radio network. The APTA also incorporates a time limit which prevents the radio from transmitting too often. This time limit is based on radio network loading.

摘要: A caveson which may be used with horses is disclosed in which the caveson allows for limited movement of the horse's mouth during breaking and training of the horse and thereafter. The caveson has a noseband constructed at least in part of a resilient material, allowing enough movement of the horse's mouth to prevent pain or discomfort while exerting progressive and constant pressure on the horse's nose when the horse opens its mouth or crosses its jaws, ensuring that the trainer or rider will maintain control and communication with the horse through the bit. The noseband together with an adjustable jaw strap form a circular segment that fits around the horse's nose and is maintained in position on the horse's head by a headstall which is connected at opposite ends to the circular segment and which is configured to run behind the horse's ears.

摘要: The invention includes a method of communicating in a network of multiple nodes transmitting and receiving messages to and from each other. The method includes (a) scanning in synchronism a receive directional beam of an antenna of a first node and a receive directional beam of an antenna of a second node; (b) steering, in azimuth, a transmit directional beam of an antenna of the first node to a relative bearing of the second node; and (c) transmitting a message from the first node to the second node, when the transmit directional beam of the first node and the receive directional of the second node are substantially aligned in relative bearing to each other.

摘要: A sidelobe blanking system is provided which uses as much of the existing radar tracking system as possible while requiring a minimal number of additional components. The sidelobe blanking system includes a guard antenna and two phase shifters the first of which is operably coupled to the main radar antenna's sum pattern. The phase shifters create signals of opposite polarities which represent the complex conjugate of the sum pattern from the main radar antenna. The system includes two summing circuits which add the signal received by the guard antenna to the complex conjugate signals of opposite polarity. The system also includes a phase detector which compares the outputs of the first and second summing circuits and generates a signal representative of the cosine of the relative phase angle. The polarity of the output of the phase detector is determinative of whether or not the target being detected is in the sidelobe region or the mainlobe region and is independent of any phase error between the main and guard antennas.
