    摘要: A damper assembly including an input member, an output member, and a transfer assembly is disclosed. The input member is configured to receive a torsional input. The output member is configured to provide a torsional output. The transfer assembly is coupled between the input member and the output member and includes a ring, a first guide, a second guide, a first spring, and a second spring. The ring defines a first linear slide path that has a first end and a second end, and a second linear slide path that has a third end and a fourth end. The first guide is slideable within the first linear slide path and coupled to the input member. The second guide is slideable within the second linear slide path and coupled to the input member. The first spring is positioned between the first guide and the second end of the first linear slide path. The second spring is positioned between the second guide and the fourth end of the second linear slide path. Movement of the input member relative to the output member causes the first guide to slide along the first linear slide path and the second guide to slide along the second linear slide path.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine, particularly suitable for use in a motor vehicle, is provided with a combustion air supply, an exhaust manifold, and a bypass venturi assembly. The bypass venturi assembly includes a housing having an outlet, a combustion air inlet connected and in communication with the combustion air supply, and an exhaust gas inlet connected and in communication with the exhaust manifold. A venturi nozzle is positioned in communication with the combustion air inlet. The venturi nozzle defines a bypass venturi section therein. The venturi nozzle and the housing define an exhaust gas venturi section therebetween terminating at an induction area. The venturi nozzle has a plurality of through holes in communication with a downstream portion of the exhaust gas venturi section. The exhaust gas inlet terminates at the induction area. A bypass valve is positioned to open and close the bypass venturi section. The bypass venturi assembly has a compact design with simple and efficient operation for selectively controlling the amount of exhaust gas which is inducted into the compressed combustion air.

    摘要: A vibration isolation or noise attenuation and fluid sealing system, for use in connection with internal combustion engine components. For example, for use in the mounting of a valve cover or rocker arm cover upon a cylinder block or cylinder head, or for the mounting of an oil pan cover upon an oil pan housing. The system has an isolation medium or member mechanically and/or chemically bonded to a peripheral flange portion of the cover member. A sealing flange member is chemically and/or mechanically bonded to the isolation member or medium. The three components being a one-piece unitary cover assembly. The fluid leakage along the interfaces defined between the three components is effectively eliminated. The one-piece assembly is secured to the cylinder block or head, or the oil pan housing, by shoulder bolt fasteners. The fasteners exert compressive forces upon the isolation member so as to vary the stiffness and frequency characteristics thereof. Thus, fine tuning of the stiffness can effectively absorb, dampen, and dissipate noise and vibration.
