摘要： A system includes a camera, a weigh-in-motion scale, and a processor. The camera is configured to capture one or more images of a vehicle as the vehicle goes over the weigh-in-motion scale. The weigh-in-motion scale is configured to generate one or more weight measurements of the vehicle as the vehicle goes over the weigh-in-motion scale. The processor is operatively coupled to the camera and the weigh-in-motion scale. The processor is configured to determine an acceleration of at least a portion of the vehicle based at least in part on the one or more images of the vehicle. The processor is also configured to adjust at least one of the one or more weight measurements based on the acceleration.

摘要： A composite wood article includes a plurality of four elongated triangular-shaped pieces and opposing pieces are substantially similar in cross-sectional dimensions. They are joined together to form a composite parallelogram in cross-section. One alternative embodiment includes using sector-shaped pieces that have been cut from generally cylindrical logs, while another embodiment includes triangular-shaped pieces cut from readily available rectangular lumber. In the process of manufacturing the composite article, the four triangular-shaped pieces are first machined so they are properly sized and then after the appropriate application of adhesive to the surfaces which will form the connecting joints, the joinder base leg of each triangular-shaped piece is positioned so as to be juxtaposed against the adjacent joinder leg of the next adjacent triangular-shaped piece. Once all four triangular-shaped pieces are positioned properly, the loosely connected composite is then directed into a pressing station where suitable pressure is exerted on the plurality of joints to cure the adhesive. After the joints are cured, the composite article may then be machined to its final dimension.

摘要： A core infeed apparatus for a surface winder moves an elongated core axially into the winder while an axial line of glue is applied to the core. The core is moved into a space between a pair of rotatable core guides. One of the core guides is rotatable away from the core while the other core guide rotates the core toward a core inserter. The core is transferred to the core inserter, and the core inserter rotates to move the core toward the winding rolls of the rewinder. The position of the glue line is accurately maintained as the core moves to its various positions.

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing a roll or log of bathroom tissue or kitchen toweling with a pattern being repeated between each pair of transverse perforations wherein an extensible web having a pattern thereon repeated at equally longitudinally spaced position is advanced along a path toward a rewinder having a knife-equipped perforator and a cutoff mechanism. A detector senses the position of each pattern and also sensed is the position of the perforation knife with the positions being reported to a controller. The perforation knife is adjusted to insure that each perforation is between pattern positions and the cutoff mechanism is adjusted to stay in time with the transverse lines of perforations to provide a selected count of patterns in each winding cycle.
