摘要： The present invention is directed to a method of synchronizing data transmission through optical links between first and second communications components. Each of the first and second communications components include an optical laser for transmitting and receiving laser signals to and from each other through the optical links. In an embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: (a) initializing each of the first and second communications components; (b) enabling the optical lasers and optical sensors; (c) exchanging idle packets between the first and second communications components to establish a datapath across the optical links; (d) exchanging test data packets across the datapath established in step (c) to verify connection of the optical links; and (e) upon verification of connection of said optical links in step (d), enabling data flow between said first and second communications components. In particular, this method is applicable to synchronizing data transmission across a parallel optical link comprising a plurality of parallel links.

摘要： A landscaping tow apparatus for cultivating dirt or land. The apparatus includes a U-shaped bracket rotatably secured to a tool head support, wherein the tool head support includes a plurality of tool heads removably secured thereon for cultivating the land. A hitch is further affixed to the U-shaped bracket and can mount the apparatus to a vehicle, such as a tractor or riding lawnmower. A pair of wheels are extendable from the bracket in order to engage the ground and lift the tool head support for rotation thereof. In operation, the hitch is secured to a tractor and the side of the tool head support having the desired tool head is positioned against the ground. The wheels are extended so that the tool head support can be rotated in order to have a different tool head engage the ground.

摘要： Formulations containing anthraquinone derivatives with increased effectiveness as pesticides are provided. These formulations may comprise (a) a preparation comprising one or more anthraquinone derivatives having activity against plant pests; (b) one or more C2-C7 alcohols, or glycols or lactones; and (c) one or more surfactants selected from the group consisting of a sulfate, ethoxylated fatty acid esters wherein said alcohols and surfactants are present in amounts effective to stability said preparation. Also provided are methods of using these formulations as pesticides.

摘要： A method and device for generating power using radiation pressure is described. The device comprises a turbine generator in which the turbine comprises optical resonant cavities or waveguides. The turbine rotates as a result of the force applied to the resonant cavities or waveguides by the radiation pressure of the circulating laser beam. Because of the amplification of the power of the input laser beam through resonant enhancement, the Photon Turbine Generator (PTG) has the potential for overunity efficiency (i.e., power output exceeding power input), lasting until the laser pumping mechanism or gain medium degrades or expires. The PTG may be built on either a macroscopic or microscopic scale. The PTG can provide clean, efficient, long-lasting power for diverse applications (e.g., energy, transportation, and electronic devices), while also supplying electricity to meet its own operational needs (e.g., laser pump power).

摘要： A thermophotovoltaic device includes at least one thermal radiator tube, a cooling tube concentrically disposed within each thermal radiator tube and an array of thermophotovoltaic cells disposed on the exterior surface of the cooling tube. A shell having a first end and a second end surrounds the thermal radiator tube. Inner and outer tubesheets, each having an aperture corresponding to each cooling tube, are located at each end of the shell. The thermal radiator tube extends within the shell between the inner tubesheets. The cooling tube extends within the shell through the corresponding apertures of the two inner tubesheets to the corresponding apertures of the two outer tubesheets. A plurality of the thermal radiator tubes can be arranged in a staggered or an in-line configuration within the shell.
