    摘要: A center justified pin registration system uses a plurality of pairs of registration pins having different thickness heads to align an edge of a printing plate when mounting the plate to a drum of an imaging system. The registration pins are optionally adjustable. The registration system avoids the requirement to punch holes or notches in a printing plate and does not require adjusting the thickness of a common registration pin. The registration system allows printing plates having different widths to be mounted without necessitating adjustments of the registration pins. An alternate embodiment employs a plurality of pairs of registration pins having uniform thickness heads.

    摘要: A media handling system is provided for an imaging system, such as an external drum platesetter. An edge clamp used to secure a printing plate onto a cylindrical media support surface of the external drum is movable about the drum surface to accommodate the use of different size plates. The edge clamp includes a clamping bar which is radially movable with respect to the media support surface to attach to the media support surface and capture an edge of the printing plate by employing vacuum hold down force.

    摘要: A computer input device removably mounted to a keyboard is disclosed. A bar, which may be slightly longer than the width of the keyboard, is slidably mounted beneath the keyboard. The bar is slidable from a first position in which one end of the bar extends beyond the side of the keyboard to a second position in which the other end of the bar extends beyond the other side of the keyboard. An input device, such as a trackball, is removably attached, for example, by hook and loop fasteners, to the end of the bar which extends beyond the side of the keyboard. To move the device to the other side of the keyboard, the device is lifted off the end of the bar, the bar is slid under the keyboard until the other end extends beyond the other side of the keyboard, and the device is attached on the other end of the bar. The removable mount of the present invention thus accommodates left and right side mounting, eases the switching from side to side, and takes up minimum space.

    摘要: A take-up roller for winding a continuous recording medium has an outer hollow cylindrical tube with a longitudinal slot and an inner hollow cylindrical tube with a longitudinal slot. The inner hollow cylindrical tube is mounted concentrically within the outer hollow cylindrical tube. Two eccentrically mounted weights are fastened on opposite sides of the inner tube slot, keeping the inner tube oriented with its slot facing downward. The outer tube is driven by a drive motor to rotate the outer tube relative to the inner tube until a sensor signals the drive motor to stop upon the alignment of the tube slots. A leading edge of the recording medium is inserted into the center of the inner tube though an opening formed by the alignment of the slots. Then, the outer tube is rotated relative to the inner tube, thereby closing the opening and wrapping the recording medium around the edge of the outer tube slot. A friction force is created between the tubes, due to the presence of the media between the tube slot edges, causing the inner tube to rotate with the outer tube. A one-way roller clutch system connects the tubes and prevents any relative rotation between the tubes to maintain the opening in its closed position during winding.
