    摘要: A device that is adapted to wind a web of material includes a winding body to which a start of a material web can be connected. The material web is wound by rotation of the winding body which includes two clamping elements that can be displaced with respect to each other. A clamping gap is defined by these two clamping elements and the start of the material web can be placed in this clamping gap. These two clamping elements of the winding body are pressed against one another while clamping the start of the web. A guiding element, such as a plate is provided to guide the material web start to the clamping gap. A method for preparing a material roll is also disclosed.

    摘要: A take-up roller for winding a continuous recording medium has an outer hollow cylindrical tube with a longitudinal slot and an inner hollow cylindrical tube with a longitudinal slot. The inner hollow cylindrical tube is mounted concentrically within the outer hollow cylindrical tube. Two eccentrically mounted weights are fastened on opposite sides of the inner tube slot, keeping the inner tube oriented with its slot facing downward. The outer tube is driven by a drive motor to rotate the outer tube relative to the inner tube until a sensor signals the drive motor to stop upon the alignment of the tube slots. A leading edge of the recording medium is inserted into the center of the inner tube though an opening formed by the alignment of the slots. Then, the outer tube is rotated relative to the inner tube, thereby closing the opening and wrapping the recording medium around the edge of the outer tube slot. A friction force is created between the tubes, due to the presence of the media between the tube slot edges, causing the inner tube to rotate with the outer tube. A one-way roller clutch system connects the tubes and prevents any relative rotation between the tubes to maintain the opening in its closed position during winding.

    摘要: A spool for a strip of film or other web material has a core and an elongate slot through the core for receiving an end portion of the strip. A separate keeper for retaining the end portion in the slot includes a first portion that is snapped into the slot and holds the end portion firmly against one surface of the slot. The keeper has a second portion that is engageable with the strip outside the slot for holding the strip against an arcuate portion of the core. The keeper can be latched in either a first position in which the keeper is partially inserted into the slot during insertion of the end portion into the slot, or a second position in which the keeper is fully inserted into the slot.

    摘要: A winding drum for a flexible tape comprises two side faces and peripheral wall defining spaced first and second grooves. The first groove has a longitudinal axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum and has an opening at one end thereof that is defined by one of the side faces and is closed at the other end thereof.
