摘要： An apparatus for stuffing a shirred tubular casing with a fluid material such as a sausage composition or pieces of ham comprising a stuffing horn having an aperture through which the fluid material is forced under pressure into the casing, a device located on the periphery of the stuffing horn and within the interior of the casing for smoothing and expanding the casing, the device comprising at least two disk-shaped planar bodies, at least one of which is rotatable in a plane parallel to and/or shiftable perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the stuffing horn, the outer circumference of each planar body being smaller than the inner circumference of the tubular casing, whereby the projection of the cross-sectional surfaces of the planar bodies in the direction of the longitudinal axis upon rotating or shifting of the bodies results in a total surface having a greater circumference than the inner circumference of the tubular casing.

摘要： Disclosed is an article of manufacture, comprising a hollow rod comprised of a longitudinally gathered tube of cellulose hydrate-based material, the hollow rod having a latent water content of between about 25% and 100% by weight based upon the total weight of the hollow rod and being free of chemical anti-bacteriocidal agent; a closed, substantially gas impermeable packaging sheath having a hollow interior chamber therein, with the hollow rod being positioned in the hollow interior chamber, whereby the hollow rod is completely enveloped by the packaging sheath, wherein the packaging sheath is comprised of a flexible film of material which is substantially impermeable to gases; and a protective gas essentially filling the remaining portion of the hollow interior chamber, with the gas protecting the hollow rod against the formation of aerobic microorganisms on the water-containing cellulose hydrate-based material.

摘要： Disclosed is a calibrating device for expanding and controlling the draw-off speed of a shirred tubular casing 4a from the stuffing horn 1 of a stuffing machine during the filling thereof. This device comprises a hollow calibrating pipe 2 having a central bore therethrough for mounting on the stuffing horn 1 of a stuffing machine, and an enlarged circumference 8 at one end thereof which applies a frictional force to the tubular casing 4 as the casing is drawn over the pipe during filling. At least the enlarged end 8 of the pipe 2, moreover, is made of a resilient material to provide this area with a variable circumference to eliminate damage to the casing due to variations in the size thereof. Means 3 are also provided for adjusting the effective circumference of the enlarged end 8 of the pipe 2.

摘要： A device for deshirring, smoothing and braking a shirred tubular casing during stuffing of the tubular casing with a fluid material, such as a sausage mixture, comprising a substantially rigid hollow body with an outer circumferential surface having a substantially circular cross section and with a central opening having securing elements for receiving and releasably securing the hollow body on the outer surface of the stuffing horn of a stuffing device adjacent the stuffing horn outlet. The hollow body is disposed inside an unshirred end portion of the shirred tubular casing having a prescribed inner diameter, and said hollow body has a substantially annular, cylindrical form with a maximum external diameter which is smaller than the prescribed inner diameter of the unshirred tubular casing. The outer circumferential surface of the hollow body is provided with an annular recess having a substantially V-shaped or U-shaped cross section whereby the minimum diameter of the hollow body in the region of the recess is from 25 to 65 percent smaller than the maximum diameter of said hollow body. The device further comprises a braking unit for restricting the speed of withdrawal of the tubular casing during stuffing.

Also disclosed are a functional unit comprised of the shirred packaging tube and the supporting sheath as well as a method for producing the functional unit.

摘要： A process is disclosed for coating the inside surface of a length of tubing comprising the steps of forming at least one loop of tubing with a downwardly inclined portion and an upwardly inclined portion; filling the cavity of the tubing forming the loop with a coating liquid; transporting the tubing along its longitudinal axis in a substantially vertically upward direction to coat the inside of the tubing above the level of the coating liquid with an initial layer of coating liquid; constricting the tubing adjacent to and above the level of the coating liquid along a constriction zone transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tubing, the constriction zone progressively diminishing in width in the direction of travel of the tubing to reduce the thickness of the initial layer and form a thin layer of desired thickness on the inside of the tubing issuing from the constriction zone; filling the cavity of the tubing issuing from the metering device with support gas; and exposing the tubing to heat at a sufficient temperature to fuse the coating layer to the inside of the tubing and form an uninterrupted film of uniform thickness thereon. The coating liquid can comprise an aqueous polymeric dispersion containing at least about 15% by weight of dispersed polymer based on the total weight of the dispersion and preferrably in the range of about 15 to 60% by weight. Also disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out the process of the present invention.

摘要： Disclosed is a process for the continuous manufacture of fiber-reinforced tubing based on cellulose hydrate, comprising the steps of impregnating and coating fibrous tubing with an aqueous akaline viscose solution; moving the viscose-treated tubing at a steady speed vertically in a straight line along its longitudinal axis; applying a viscose-regenerating fluid along at least one circular circumferential line to at least the outside of the viscose-treated fibrous tubing; immediately after the application step, passing the tubing with the film of regenerating fluid on its surface through at least one first air section, whereby there is produced a fiber-reinforced tubing based on cellulose hydrate; treating the cellulose hydrate tubing with an aqueous fluid containing a dissolved chemical plasticizer; and drying the plasticized tubing. Also disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out this process.
