摘要: In a method and apparatus for producing an ink jet printer head composed of a number of stacked modules, a piezoactuator plate is formed by metallizing opposite major faces of a plate of piezoelectric material, while leaving an unmetallized stripe on one of said major faces, thereby separating the metallization on that major face into two regions. A side face of the piezoelectric plate is also metallized, the side face extending substantially parallel to the unmetallized stripe, thereby electrically connecting one of the metallized regions on one major face to the metallized layer on the opposite major face. The metallized piezoelectric plate is then structured so as to produce a number of side-by-side piezoactuators therein, each piezoactuator having first and second electrodes formed by the respective metallization on the opposite sides of the plate. Respective electrical leads for the two electrodes of each piezoactuator can be electrically contacted to the same side of the plate, i.e. the side having the non-metallized stripe thereon.

摘要: An ink-jet printer head is composed of individual, stacked ink-jet printer modules operating according to the edge-shooter principle and equipped with plate-shaped piezoelectric actuators whose electrodes are contacted to leads of a ribbon conductor. The ink-jet printer head has a simplified structure and improved service properties and is composed of individual, identical ink-jet printer modules whose nozzle rows are arranged offset relative to one another and can be easily interchanged, because the carrier layer of the ribbon conductors enveloping the leads is reinforced and shaped in the region between neighboring ink-jet printer modules, so that the required spacing between the piezoactuators and between the nozzle rows of the ink-jet printer modules as well as an exact fixing thereof relative to one another are achieved. In this way, the ribbon conductors serve as a contact element, a spacer and an adjustment member for neighboring ink-jet printer modules. Complicated housing and front masks are thus eliminated and the number of components is reduced and adjustment outlay is largely avoided. The ink-jet printer head is provided for use in small, fast printers, wherein a large number of nozzles are required.

摘要: An ink printer head of individual ink printer modules operating according to the edge-shooter principle equipped with piezoelectric actuators is provided for use in printers for postage meter machines and correspondingly has a large number of nozzles arranged in columns. For this purpose, a nozzle module, composed of a nozzle plate and two adapter plates arranged at opposite sides thereof, is disposed between ink printer modules that are constructed mirror-symmetrically relative to one another and are equipped with piezoactuators applied on both sides. The adapter plates are provided with openings for ink guidance and with recesses providing for the free space needed for piezoactuators. The openings in the adapter plates are matched, first, to the nozzle dimensions and, second, to the dimensions of the connecting channels to the ink chambers and are aligned with both the nozzles and the connecting channels. Identical etching masks can be used for a number of plates due to the mirror-symmetrical structure. A reduction in the manufacturing outlay while preserving the requiring printing precision is achieved. A high degree of repetition is achieved by employing identical ink printer modules and ink paths of approximately identical length is also achieved. The nozzle apertures can be given a circular cross-section without difficulty.

摘要: An ink-jet printer head is composed of stacked ink printer modules operating according to the edge-shooter principle and each equipped with plate-shaped piezoelectric actuators. The ink-jet printer head is for use in small, fast printers, suitable for use in a franking machine wherein a large number of nozzles are required. Plate-shaped spacer parts between the ink printer modules are structured such that they serve both for assuring the required spacing between neighboring modules as well as for setting an offset of the nozzle apertures of the neighboring ink printer modules relative to one another. To that end, the spacer parts are provided with registration elements at both sides that engage into allocated recesses of the ink printer modules. Each ink printer module also has electrical interconnects for connection to a driver circuit. In order to suffice with only one connector array for connection to the driver circuit, interconnects are extended, for each module, from its outer diaphragm plate surface over the lateral surfaces of the module into its other outer diaphragm plate surface.

摘要: In an arrangement and method for entering postage the contents of a franking image into a postage meter machine, the franking image is initially incompletely pre-installed. The franking imprint data for a selection are ordered at least according to mail carrier and/or countries in a data bank of the manufacturer and can be allocated to the serial number of the machine. The postage meter machine serial number is entered in a step separate therefrom. As needed, data can be loaded or selected with a specific, country-specific and/or carrier-specific chip card in order to finally configure the postage meter machine.

摘要: In a method and apparatus for protecting a device against operation with unallowed consumables whose authenticity is checked in a remote data center, at least one code word is generated, an allocation to a specific consumable is stored in the form of a dataset with a reference code word, the consumable is aggregated with the generated code word, which has a predetermined relationship to the reference code word or to a group of reference code words that are stored in the data center. An operation for the replacement of a consumable in a device remote from the data center is detected and a communication connection is set up between the device and the remote data center and the code word aggregated with the consumable is communicated to the data center. The communicated code word is received in the data center and the authenticity of the consumable on the basis of a stored reference code word is checked at the data center, which transmits a message to the device after checking the code.

摘要: In an arrangement and method for data processing in a mail shipping system, a document is supplied to the mail shipping system having information printed thereon identifying a carrier to be used for shipping the document and/or cost center information identifying a cost center which produced the document. The printed information is scanned at the mail shipping system and the scanned information is stored and is used for calculating a fee for shipping the document and for selecting an appropriate print format, respectively allocated to the carrier and/or the cost center identified in the scanned information, and a franking imprint is printed on the document embodying the appropriate fee and print format. Each carrier which is available for use for shipping the document, and each cost center among a number of cost centers which share usage of the mail shipping system, respectively has a carrier identification number or a cost center number allocated thereto. Changes in the print format, or other data changes, can be made by entering the cost center number or the carrier number into a postage meter machine in the shipping system. Accounting information can be generated and supplied, upon request, to a personal computer at any of the cost centers.

摘要: A method for checking a security imprint in a postage meter machine having a microprocessor includes the steps of encoding data for a security mark pixel image and inserts the encoded data into the remaining, fixed and variable pixel image data during printing. The method includes steps for forming a mark symbol sequence from an encoded combination number which is composed of at least a first number (sum of all postage values since the last reloading date), an optional second number added to said first number, a third number (postage value) and a fourth number (of the serial number), and for enabling a check of the security imprint by a postal authority. Manipulatons can be recognized using further data stored and/or calculated in a remote data center. An arrangement conducting a for check includes a mark reader composed of a CCD line camera, a D/A converter, a comparator and an encoder which are connected via an input/output unit to an input unit. A communication link can be established between the meter and the data center to evaluate mark data in a computerized manner.
