摘要: This disclosure describes a system and method for a central controller layer to monitor conditions and control operations of an electric grid. The central controller layer communicates with an intermediate controller layer that includes hubs to monitor operations of grid edge devices connected to different regions of the electric grid. The central controller layer obtains, from each hub, sensor data corresponding to measurements performed by the grid edge devices. The central controller layer determines, based on the sensor data and expected grid-wide operations, control strategies with expected electrical operating conditions for the respective region, and provides a respective control strategy to each hub. In response to receiving the respective control strategy for the hub, each hub generates operational parameters for at least one grid edge device that cause a grid edge device to adjust its operation based on the expected amount of power flow for the hub.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for performing electric grid timing coordination. The method can include: receiving, by a first electric grid device, a message from a second electric grid device, the message including a first clock value associated with an oscillator of the second electric grid device; determining, based on the first clock value, a second-first device time offset between the second electric grid device and the first electric grid device; and storing the second-first device time offset in a time offset table stored at the first electric grid device.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including medium-encoded computer program products, for selecting, from a unified electrical power grid model, a first proper subset of elements of the model. A first electrical grid simulation model is selected. A second, differing proper subset of elements of the model are selected. A second electrical grid simulation model that differs from the first electrical grid simulation model is selected. A set of boundary conditions common to the first electrical grid simulation model and the second electrical grid simulation model are determined. Operation of the electrical power grid is simulated, and can include (i) simulating, using the first electrical grid simulation model, the first proper subset of elements of the unified model, and the set of boundary conditions; and (ii) simulating, using the second electrical grid simulation model and the second proper subset of elements of the unified model, and the set of boundary conditions.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including medium-encoded computer program products, for predicting electrical component failure. A first sensor measurement of a component of an electrical grid taken at a first time can be obtained. A second sensor measurement of the component taken at a second time can be identified, and the second time can be after the first time. An input, which can include the first sensor measurement and the second sensor measurement, can be processed using a machine learning model that is configured to generate, based on one or more changes in one or more characteristics of the component as depicted in the second sensor measurement compared to the first sensor measurement, a prediction representative of a likelihood that the component will experience a type of failure during a time interval. Data indicating the prediction can be provided for presentation by a display.

摘要: A compound motor-generator system including a first motor-generator and a second motor-generator. The first motor generator includes a stator having a set of three-phase field windings and a first rotor disposed inside and coaxial with the stator and configured to rotate relative to the stator. The second motor-generator includes a rotational stator and a second rotor coupled to a common shaft with the rotor of the first motor-generator and disposed inside and coaxial to the rotational stator. The rotational stator is configured to rotate relative to the second rotor and at a higher rotational speed than the second rotor.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus for an infrared and visible imaging system. In some implementations, Image data from a visible-light camera is obtained. A position of a device is determined based at least in part on the image data from the visible-light camera. An infrared camera is positioned so that the device is in a field of view of the infrared camera, with the field of view of the infrared camera being narrower than the field of view of the visible-light camera. Infrared image data from the infrared camera that includes regions representing the device is obtained. Infrared image data from the infrared camera that represents the device is recorded. Position data is also recorded that indicates the location and pose of the infrared camera when the infrared image data is acquired by the infrared camera.

摘要: A power distribution system includes a bidirectional power converter, a battery, and a controller. The bidirectional power converter is operable to (i) convert AC power received at AC terminals to DC power at DC terminals and (ii) convert DC power received at the DC terminals to AC power at the AC terminals. The bidirectional power converter is disposed within a converter stack formed by a plurality of power converters having DC terminals that are coupled to each other in series. The battery is arranged to be selectively couplable to the DC terminals of the bidirectional power converter. The controller is configured to (i) determine that the DC voltage across the DC terminals of the bidirectional power converter is below a threshold voltage and (ii) couple the battery to the DC terminals of the bidirectional power converter based on the determination that the DC voltage is below the threshold voltage.
