Abstract:
Processes for making toners, and in particular, emulsion aggregation (EA) toners. These toners exhibit a low melt temperature while simultaneously exhibiting excellent relative humidity sensitivity regarding charging properties. In embodiments, the process comprises the preparation of the latex emulsion comprising high ratio resin compositions by injection of steam and neutralization agent vapors into the latex emulsion.
Abstract:
An ink jet printing system comprises an ink reservoir, an ink passageway, an inkjet nozzle, and a plurality of magnetic elements that are located adjacent at least one of the ink reservoir and the ink passageway. The at least one of the ink reservoir and the ink passageway further includes having micro-magnetic particles located therein. The magnetic particles may have a particle size from about 500 nm to about 50 microns. The ink reservoir and ink passageway further contain ink composition comprising pigment colorant. The plurality of magnetic elements provide a magnetic field to be applied to the micro-magnetic particles which results in a chaotic motion of the magnetic particles in the ink mixture.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photoconductive member and a delivery unit. The delivery unit is disposed in contact with a surface of the photoconductive member to apply a layer of functional materials to the surface of the photoconductive member, wherein a cylindrical axis of the delivery unit is angled with respect to a cylindrical axis of the photoconductive member to increase uniformity of the functional materials layer.
