摘要: An oil-in-water monitoring (OIWM) system for monitoring an oil-in-water concentration of treated water in a subsea processing system. The system includes a first OIWM portion including a separation component configured to separate the treated water stream into a separated oil portion and a separated water portion which has a plenum including the separated oil portion and the separated water portion. A separation component instrument is operatively coupled to the plenum. The system also includes at least two of: an oil line instrument operatively coupled to an oil line, a water line instrument operatively coupled to a water line, and an inlet line instrument operatively coupled to the inlet line. A computational device is configured to output an oil-in-water concentration of the inlet treated water stream using the parameters measured by the separation component instrument and at least two of the other instruments. Methods using such systems are also disclosed.

摘要: A method of emulsion extraction and processing from an oil/water separator, comprising detecting an emulsion parameter, passing an emulsion stream out of the separator, combining the emulsion stream with a water stream exiting the separator to create a diluted emulsion, dynamically adjusting a dilution of the diluted emulsion based at least in part on the emulsion parameter, and separating the diluted emulsion into an underflow stream comprising substantially water and a reject stream comprising substantially oil.

摘要: The current disclosure relates to multiphase fluid separation via a multiphase separation system. The multiphase separation system is configured to feed a multiphase fluid into feed lines within the multiphase separation system, wherein the feed lines consist of an upper line, a middle line, and a lower line. The upper line is configured to flow a first stream substantially including oil into an oil section of a control volume. The middle line is configured to flow a second stream substantially including an oil/water emulsion into an oil/water emulsion section of the control volume. The lower line is configured to flow a third stream substantially including water into a water section of the control volume. The control volume is configured to adjust fluid flow rate at an outlet, wherein the oil section, the water section, and the oil/water emulsion section each commingle at different heights of the control volume.

摘要: The present techniques are directed to a multiphase separation system. The system includes a liquid-liquid separator configured to receive a separated liquid that is further separated into a separated oil and a separated water within the liquid-liquid separator (126). An oil pump (136) and a water pump (138), both with adjustable speeds, are configured to pump the separated oil and the separated water, respectively, from the liquid-liquid separator (126). An interface level (140) in the liquid-liquid separator (126) is regulated by adjusting the speed of the oil pump (136) and the speed of the water pump (138).
