摘要: A compact pressure energy recovery gas oil separation plant system includes a rotary separation turbine (RST) that receives a wild crude oil and separates at least 95% of gas and free water from the wild crude oil and discharges an RST outlet crude stream, a wet-dry heat exchanger for heating the RST outlet crude stream, thereby producing an exchanger outlet crude stream, a three-phase high-pressure-high-temperature (HPHT) separator that receives and separates gas and water from the exchanger outlet crude stream to achieve a Basic Sediment & Water specification of 0.2 v/v % or less, thereby producing an HPHT outlet crude stream, a high-pressure desalter and dehydrator (HPDD) that receives, desalts, and dehydrates the HPHT outlet crude stream, thereby further and producing an HPDD outlet crude stream, and a high-pressure stabilization column that receives and stabilizes the HPD outlet crude stream, thereby producing an export grade crude stream.

摘要: A coalescing filter element provides an integrated filter element with a three stage design with a hydrophobic or hydrophilic coalescing layer. A coalescing filter element comprises: a) At least one particulate filtration layer; b) A coalescing layer promoting coalescing of water particles, wherein the coalescing layer is downstream of the at least one particulate filtration layer relative to the flow of fluid through the element; c) An annular coalescing space downstream of the coalescing layer; d) A sump in a lower portion of the filter element in fluid communication with the annular coalescing space; and e) A hydrophobic layer downstream of the annular coalescing space, wherein fluid being cleaned by the element flows through the hydrophobic layer. The coalescing layer may be a hydrophobic or a hydrophilic coalescing layer. A filter assembly will include the coalescing filter element of the present invention.

摘要: A system for crude oil desalting and dehydration includes a separation vessel defining a cavity extending along a central axis having a substantially-vertical orientation. The separation vessel comprises a first distributor configured to distribute a mixture within the cavity of the separation vessel, and a second distributor configured to distribute a wash fluid within the cavity of the separation vessel. The mixture comprises crude oil, water, dissolved salts, free salts, or combinations thereof, and the wash fluid comprises an aqueous fluid. The first distributor is disposed within the cavity below the second distributor, and an interface level controller is configured to detect an interface between an oil phase and an aqueous phase and to maintain the interface within a predetermined range within the cavity.

摘要: The invention relates to injecting steam into crude oil to remove salt by transferring the salt into the steam while also adding liquid water to the crude oil to remove salt. Steam transfers salt via a different transfer mechanism then salt transfers to water and the steam is permitted to fully condense before any high shear mixing of conventional water injection systems is imposed on the steam bubbles. The salty water from condensed steam along with the crude oil has liquid water added in two further steps each followed by high shear mixing to further reduce salt content of the crude oil as much as practical.

摘要: A system for removing moisture from a hydrocarbon-based fluid is described. The system comprises a sealable and vacuum rated chamber disposed within a separator vessel. An open cell reticulated foam media is packed inside the chamber. The hydrocarbon-based fluid may fill the vacuum rated chamber. A vacuum may be applied to the chamber causing undesirable moisture in the fluid to boil under differential vacuum. The reticulated foam media increases the efficacy of the boiling process. Described also is a method for dehydrating a hydrocarbon-based fluid.

摘要: A system and method for the on-site separating and treating of a hydrocarbon liquid stream at an oil and gas production site is disclosed. The system comprises an oil and condensate distillation unit and a vapor recovery unit. In one embodiment, the oil and condensate distillation unit operates at low pressure or vacuum conditions to reduce the vapor pressure above the column of oil within a distillation column, thereby increasing the production of oil and condensate and capturing entrained natural gas otherwise lost or burned off. In another embodiment, oil from the distillation column can be measured by a flow meter and then transferred to one or more of an oil tank, a mobile tank, and an oil pipeline. Optionally, produced water at the production site can be run through the oil and condensate distillation unit to reduce the volume of produced water. The system further functions to improve the quality and volume of recovered natural gas and to decrease air pollution, in addition to increasing oil and condensate production at the well site.
