Amlodipine is any one selected from the group consisting of amlodipine, amlodipine active metabolite, levoamlodipine, pharmaceutically acceptable precursor of amlodipine, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of amlodipine, amlodipine active metabolite, levoamlodipine, or pharmaceutically acceptable precursor of amlodipine. The pharmaceutical dose of amlodipine is in the range of 1-10 mg. The invention belongs to the field of pharmacy.

This invention features our discovery on usages of Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase (MTHFR) gene polymorphisms in predicting homocysteine (Hcy) level and/or incidence and prognosis of diseases associated with increased Hcy level in a subject, as well as predicting treatment effects of medicines in the category of Angiotension Converting Enzyme Inhibihor (ACEI) with and without combination with B Vitamins. This invention also features our discovery on laboratory and analytical methods that are essential to the above described usages of MTHFR gene polymorphisms. In addition, this invention features a kit that has translated the above discoveries into a practical and reliable tool that can be applied to accomplish the above described usages of MTHFR gene polymorphisms. This invention represents an important step in realizing personalized medicine, with the goal to tailor diagnosis, prevention and treatment strategy to meet individual needs.

Each excitation channel has one light source and one single excitation filter and one dichroic mirror. One excitation channel is capable of exciting multiple fluorescent dyes and can be used to distinguish multiple dyes in combination with multiple emission filters. The excitation channels are driven by a motor that can automatically switch the two excitation channels for taking images of up to seven different fluorescent dyes. An algorithm to calibrate the crosstalk between different fluorescent dyes is also provided. Also provided is a method for analyzing digital PCR data using a ratio of two fluorescence emission readings.

Disclosed are methods for detecting DNA mutations of target genes in a DNA sample by combining single-molecule clonal amplification and mutant primer specific extension detection. In the method, thousands and millions of DNA molecules are locally amplified to form immobilized DNA clusters of identical sequences. Mutation specific primers are used to anneal to the mutant sequences in the DNA clusters and are extended by DNA polymerase to make labeled DNA strands. The labeled DNA clusters are detected to identify the DNA clusters of mutant sequences. This method enables detection of single mutation molecule and direct enumeration of mutation molecules in the sample. Once generated from a DNA sample, the immobilized DNA clusters can be reused many times for detection of different mutations or sequences of interest. Methods for determining differential gene expression and chromosome copy number variation are also disclosed.
