    摘要: An insulation displacement contact block comprising a base and first, second, and third walls extending upward from the base. The first and second wall define a first wire insertion opening. The second and third wall define a second wire insertion opening. A first insulation displacement contact is disposed between the first and second wall, the first insulation displacement contact including a first side and a first edge, the first side being longer than the first edge. A second insulation displacement contact is disposed between the second and third wall, the second insulation displacement contact including a second side and a second edge, the second side being longer than the second edge. The first and second insulation displacement contacts are disposed so that the first edge faces, and is in the same plane as, the second edge. A plurality of insulation displacement contact blocks may be grouped together by a tie bar to form a strip.

    摘要: A method and system for terminating a cable into a plug using a plug assembly system. Wires of the cable are exposed and dressed on to a shield. A plug body is placed over the shield. The wires are fed into wire insertion holes of the plug body. A contact holding member is placed on the plug body. A crimping tool crimps the contacts in the contact holding member through the plug body into and through the wires to achieve mechanical and electrical connection between the wires and the contacts. A cover may be used to cover the plug body, shield and wires. A crimp ferrule may be used to crimp the wires to the shield.

    摘要: A shielded electrical data connector terminates a shielded multiconductor cable. The data connector includes an insulative housing having a conductive housing shield therein. A contact holding member is accommodated in the connector housing and supports a row of plural spaced electrical contacts thereon. A contact shield is supported by the contact holding member. The contact shield has a shield extension extending between at least two of the contacts so as to reduce cross-talk as between the two contacts. The contact shield is electrically commoned with the housing shield to maintain continuous electrical shielding.

    摘要: Modular plug for terminating a cable having twisted signal pairs of wires including a plug housing having contact blade-receiving slots at a front end and defining a longitudinally extending cavity opening at a rear end and a strain relief member defining a channel for receiving the cable. A wire aligner is interposed between the strain relief member and the housing and arranged at least partially in the cavity. The wire aligner aligns the wires of the cable into specific position relative to the slots and crimps the cable when received in the channel of the strain relief member. To crimp the cable, the wire aligner is formed with retention fingers which exert an inwardly directed force against the cable when receive din the channel of the strain relief member.
