摘要： A method provides efficient data transmission between an input-output card with an add-on memory card and a host system. The input-output card carrying an inserted memory card is connected with the host system to improve the mechanical strength of the arrangement. An input-output controller on the input-output card controls a switch that switches between data buses. The memory card and the input-output card optionally share all data buses of the input-output card to transmit data with the host system, directly transmit data between each other, or respectively use a portion of them to achieve a better transmitting efficiency.

摘要： A method for fabricating a roller mold is provided, including providing a roller substrate, wherein the roller substrate is a cylinder and has a curved surface. An inorganic resist layer is formed over the curved surface of the roller substrate. A laser exposure device is provided for irradiating the inorganic resist layer with a focused laser, causing phase change of the inorganic resist layer at exposed regions. The inorganic resist layer in the exposed regions is removed to form a nano-pattern over the roller substrate.

摘要： A spin transistor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The method includes defining a required area on a substrate by lithography; forming a doping area by ion-implantation, and forming a magnetoresistive film on the substrate. Finally, the method produces a spin transistor with the emitter, the base, and the collector in the same plane surface. The manufacturing method integrates the emitter, the base, and the collector into one plane, so that miniaturization of the spin transistor is achieved, and it is advantageous for the integration and subsequent packaging of the spin transistor and integrated circuit elements.

摘要： The present invention provides a medium for storing a subtitle data structure of an audio/video program and a method for displaying the same. The subtitle data structure of the audio/video program includes a plurality of character packages and a background image package, wherein each character package further has a header that includes the start and the end of a presenting time stamp (PTS), X-Y coordinates of the character, X length, Y length and a color (or colors) of the character, as well as pixel data for displaying the character. Compared with prior art, using the subtitle data structure of the present invention can considerably save the required medium capacity for storing the subtitle data.

摘要： A description data structure of a menu stored in an audio/video disc and a method for using the same are provided. The description data structure comprises a navigation data packet, a menu packet, and a program packet, wherein the menu packet further comprises a first header, a background image packet, a button 1 packet, a button 2 packet, etc. Moreover, each button packet comprises sub-picture information, and the navigation data packet comprises a button address packet for storing the address information of each button packet. By using the description data structure, the present invention allows not only the audio/video disc to be consumed less capacity for displaying images, but the use of a mask control program stored in the audio/video disc to be cancelled as well when highlighting a selected text in the menu, thereby expediting the processing of the stored data in the audio/video disc.

The base may be interposed between the passive element and the magneto-resistant element, thereby coupling the passive element with the magneto-resistant element. A magnetic field of a given strength may be applied to at least a portion of the magneto-resistant transistor, the given strength determining a resistance in the at least a portion of the magneto-resistant transistor. Thus, by adjusting the given strength of the magnetic field, the resistance may be adjusted. Therefore, different emitter current inputs may be achieved with a fixed voltage. Further, a base current may vary with a controlled variation of the emitter current input.

摘要： The present invention discloses a multiple-beam holographic optical pick-up head, which has the advantages of the multiple-beam optical pick-up head and the holographic optical pick-up head and can increase the light usage efficiency. This invention uses the property that a polarized diffractive optical element can generate different optical effects for laser beam with different polarizations and places a polarized multiple-beam grating and polarized hologram on the optical path for splitting the incident light toward the disc into multiple reading beams by the multiple-beam grating. The returning laser beams reflected from the disc are diffracted and diverted by the hologram to reach a photodetector. Both the incident and reflective beams are diffracted once only; thus the light usage efficiency can be increased.
