    摘要: A semiconductor device mounted in an optical disk apparatus controls writing and reading of data in and from an optical disk. The device performs first processing for adjusting a write strategy in such a manner that based on error information corresponding to a shift in the phase of a reproduction signal with respect to a channel clock signal for data reproduction, which is generated based on the reproduction signal read from the optical disk, the value of the error information related to a plurality of recording marks to be evaluated becomes minimum as a whole. The device also performs second processing for adjusting a write strategy in such a manner that the value of the error information related to a desired recording mark becomes small.

    摘要: The present invention provides a recording/reproduction apparatus and a method therefor with superior cost-effectiveness and data durability with respect to vibrations, and an efficient configuration of the memory for storing data for recording/reproduction processing when compressing image data or the like and recording the data to a recording medium or reproducing the data therefrom. In the present invention, the memory for compression and expansion processing and the buffer memory for recording and reproduction are allocated to the same memory chip. When recording/reproduction becomes impossible because of vibrations or the like, the capacity of the buffer memory for recording/reproduction is maximized by expansion. The memory capacity for compression/expansion processing is modified according to the required image quality.

    摘要: A printing control system includes a drawing unit, a block data generating unit and a controlling unit. The drawing unit sets a drawing region in which a region of an original image falls, and draws the original image in the drawing region so that a center of the region of the original image is in coincidence with a center of the drawing region. The block data generating unit divides the drawing region into a plurality of blocks, each block having a size and shape identical to one another, and generates block data representative of the plurality of blocks. The controlling unit performs an image processing on a block data basis to generate print data. The image processing includes a rotating processing for rotating each block.

    摘要: A video camera is provided not only with means for receiving any general captured images but also with means for receiving images from any other video input source. The video camera is also provided with an image input arbitration section that captures, after arbitration, video data coming from these two input means, and stores the resulting data into a memory. As such, when the video input source is a video output terminal of a car navigation system, the screen of the car navigation system, i.e., map information, can be stored in a memory together with a user's captured image. When the video camera is used for monitoring, data capturing into a memory is also enabled when the video input source is a medium already carrying therein map image data, e.g., USB flash memory and SD card, and means for reading the map image data from the medium. The data in the memory is subjected to a process of compression and encoding as moving images so that the image of position information and the user's captured image can be processed as a set of moving images. This accordingly enables to provide a system and method for recording and reproducing a set of moving images of the combination of an image of position information and a user-captured image with no need for a complicated process.
