摘要： A printing apparatus and a method of controlling the printing apparatus are provided, which enable the setting of a first mode in which image data received via a wireless interface that wirelessly receives image data from an external apparatus is converted into print image data and is printed under the default print conditions, and of a second mode in which image data received through a wireless interface is displayed on a display apparatus connected to the printing apparatus and is printed according to the print conditions that are set by using a menu screen displayed on the display apparatus and an operational panel of the printing apparatus. In addition, in the case where no display apparatus is connected to the printing apparatus, the printing apparatus prints in the first mode based on the default print conditions.

Also a statistical processing on the temperature characteristics detected on plural recording heads enables exact detection of the ink discharge state, not effected by the individual difference of the recording heads. Also there is detected the abnormality in ink discharge, that may occur prior to the exhaustion of ink in the ink tank.

摘要： It is an object of the invention to provide print control apparatus and method such that at the time of a document processing in a non-recording mode, a recording medium is not left on a feed path. To accomplish the above object, only for a period of time during which a print menu is displayed on a display, when the recording medium is detected on a sheet sensor on the feed port side, a feed motor is rotated, thereby feeding the recording medium to a predetermined position. At a time point when the print menu is finished, when the recording medium is detected on the sheet sensor on the feed port side, the recording medium is delivered and the print menu is finished after that.

摘要： In a printing apparatus which must periodically execute maintenance operation after activation and has a timer that counts the time on the basis of power supplied from a battery and has a register in which a flag is written when an abnormality occurs in the battery, the internal time is so set as to be counted up on the basis of time read out from the timer. When the flag is written in the register upon activating the apparatus, information representing occurrence of the abnormality is written in a nonvolatile storage. Predetermined time is set as the internal time, the flag is cleared, and execution of maintenance operation is designated on the basis of the internal time.

摘要： A printing apparatus has a printhead which can print in a multi tone levels, and a font memory for storing font data for respective colors including at least different grayscale data, in correspondence with codes. The apparatus reads out font data for respective colors which are stored in font memory in correspondence to an input code, renders the font data to image data in print buffers for respective colors. The apparatus then outputs the image data for respective colors stored in the print buffers to the printhead, thus printing a color image.
