摘要: An image display apparatus having sub-pixels of four colors is provided in which the resolution when an image is two-dimensionally displayed is not affected, and deterioration in the color balance of a three-dimensionally displayed image is suppressed. In the image display apparatus, the arrangement of a sub-pixel for displaying red for a left eye and a sub-pixel for displaying green for a right eye has been replaced with the arrangement of a sub-pixel (Lg1) for displaying green for the left eye and a sub-pixel (Rr1) for displaying red for the right eye. The arrangement of a sub-pixel for displaying blue for the left eye and a sub-pixel for displaying yellow for the right eye has been replaced with the arrangement of a sub-pixel (Lx1) for displaying yellow for the left eye and a sub-pixel (Rb1) for displaying blue for the right eye. Replacement with the sub-pixel and the sub-pixel and replacement with the sub-pixel and the sub-pixel are made for every other pixel.

摘要: A method of operating a display device comprising a display panel comprises receiving main and side image pixel data respectively representing a main image (S1) and a side image (S2). For each of a plurality of pixel groups (S3), where each pixel group comprises at least one pixel of the main image pixel data and at least one spatially corresponding pixel of the side image pixel data, a predetermined mapping is performed (S4) using the pixel data of the pixel group as input. The mapping holds output pixel data for the input pixel data which is known to produce an average on-axis luminance with substantially no dependence on the side image pixel data of the group and an average off-axis luminance with substantially no dependence on the main image pixel data of the group. The signals used to drive the display panel are determined from the output pixel data (S5).

摘要: A display device is provided that comprises a liquid crystal display panel (2) for displaying an image by spatial light modulation. The image is represented by a plurality of image elements each having an image data value (7). The display device further comprises a display controller (1) arranged to determine a signal voltage to be applied to the panel (2) for each image element in dependence upon its image data value (7) and a secondary data value (8) for the element, there being a predetermined mapping between the data values and the signal voltage. The secondary data values (8) are arranged to vary across the image so as to introduce variations in luminance as a result of the mapping. The mapping and secondary data values (8) are mutually arranged to take account of the signal voltage to on-axis luminance response of the panel (2) so that the luminance variations introduced on-axis tend to balance locally through spatial averaging to, and hence would not be perceivable by, an on-axis viewer (3). The panel (2) furthermore has a non-linear off-axis luminance to on-axis luminance relationship, so that at least some of the luminance variations introduced off-axis do not balance locally through spatial averaging to, and hence would be perceivable by, an off-axis viewer (4).

摘要: An X-side resistive film and a Y-side resistive film of a touch panel face each other with a predetermined gap therebetween. Resistance values of the X-side and Y-side resistive films are measured with connections to the X-side and Y-side resistive films being alternately switched. X and Y coordinates of a contact position of the X-side resistive film and the Y-side resistive film are detected based on the measured resistance values. Amounts of current applied to the X-side and Y-side resistive films during on-periods of the X-side and Y-side connections are set to be different from each another in accordance with resistance values corresponding to the X-side and Y-side resistive films, respectively.

摘要: In a BGA/CSP type electronic part having a matrix-shaped array of solder pads on its back surface, the solder pads at first two corners on one side of the array are connected with each other by an inner pattern wire, and the solder pads at the other, second two corners on the opposite side are also connected with each other by an inner pattern wire. In a printed wiring board having a matrix-shaped array of connection pads on its top surface, pattern wires are extended from the connection pads at four corners of the connection pad array to form test lands. Further, the connection pads, at two of the corners, to be bonded with the solder pads at one of the first two corners and at one of the second two corners confronting the one of the first two corners are connected with each other by a pattern wire on the board. Thus, after the BGA/CSP type electronic part is mounted in position on the printed wiring board, the state of the connection between the BGA/CSP type electronic part and the printed wiring board can be confirmed by checking the state of continuity between the test lands connected with the connection pads at the other two corners of the connection pad array.
