The method includes the steps of: in the non-display operation period of the flat-type display device, determining a normalized first current from a first current by non-display-driving the electron emitter areas near the spacers, and determining a normalized second current from a second current by non-display-driving the electron emitter areas which are not near the spacers; and in the actual display operation period of the flat-type display device, setting the driving conditions for the electron emitter areas on the basis of the normalized first current and normalized second current so that the electron emission conditions in the electron emitter areas near the spacers and not near the spacers are substantially the same.

    摘要: A portable computing device includes a touch screen with a display, and a controller that causes a keyboard image and first and second command graphics to be displayed. The first and second command graphics each contain a direction-specifying area for selecting a direction of movement of a cursor that is movable within the keyboard image and a selection input area. Touch position information concerning whether the direction-specifying area or the selection input area has been touched is generated by the controller. When the direction-specifying area of the first or second command graphic is touched, the corresponding cursor is moved in one or more discrete key image units in the direction of movement indicated by a portion of direction-specifying area that was touched; when the selection input area is touched, the character of the character key image that the cursor is currently superimposed upon is displayed on the character display field.

    摘要: A fixed pixel display device has a construction such that the leading-edge and trailing-edge waveforms of a voltage to be applied to a data electrode can be made steep. The fixed pixel display device is provided with scanning electrodes, data electrodes connected to actuation drivers (50), and light-emitting regions. The actuation drivers (50) each includes a switching circuit, an output circuit (51) and a subtraction circuit (52). The switching circuit is equipped with a first and switching circuits (53), (54) and a comparator 55. When a difference (Dm,n−Dm-1,n) between values of data for controlling states of light emission at light-emitting regions composed by the scanning electrodes in mth and (m−1)th rows is not smaller than a first reference value [not greater than a second reference value], the first switching circuit (53) [the second switching circuit (54)] is maintained in an ON state to apply a first voltage V1 [a second voltage V2] to the data electrode in an nth column. When the difference is smaller than the first reference value and is greater than the second reference value, the first and second switching circuits (53), (54) are maintained in OFF states, respectively.
