摘要: Method of fixedly connecting together externally and internally threaded tubes by tight engagement of externally and internally threaded portions of the tubes, wherein a wrenching operation is performed to rotate the externally and internally threaded tubes relative to each other with the externally and internally threaded portions engaging each other while an axial force is applied between the tubes. A physical quantity relating to a coefficient of friction between said tubes is obtained on the basis of a detected wrenching torque applied to rotate the tubes relative to each other and the axial force, and a terminating condition for terminating the wrenching operation is determined on the basis of the obtained physical quantity. The wrenching operation is terminated when the terminating condition has been satisfied. Apparatus for practicing the method and recording medium storing a control program for the method are also disclosed.

摘要: An elevator carrying a motor for rotating a socket wrench is lowered by a hydraulic cylinder while being guided by a linear guide, such that the socket wrench is rotated by the motor while the socket wrench is in engagement with the head of a bolt, with a compressive force being applied to the bolt based on a hydraulic pressure of the cylinder, and such that a wrenching torque and the compressive force acting on the bolt is detected by a detector. A coefficient of friction between thread surfaces of the bolt and an internal thread is evaluated based on the wrenching torque in an initial stage of wrenching operation in which the bolt head is spaced apart from a workpiece, while a coefficient of friction between the bolt head and the workpiece is evaluated based on the wrenching torque in an intermediate stage in which the thread surfaces of the bolt and the internal thread are spaced apart from each other immediately after contacting of the bolt head and the workpiece. The wrenching operation is terminated when actual wrenching torque reaches a target wrenching torque determined from the friction coefficients.

摘要: An inclusion rating method includes carrying out a tensile test on a test specimen, which is made of a metallic material and charged with a hydrogen, to cause a fracture originating from a nonmetallic inclusion affected by the hydrogen in the test specimen, identifying a type of the nonmetallic inclusion, measuring a size of the nonmetallic inclusion, and evaluating a cleanliness of the metallic material by obtaining a distribution function of the size of the nonmetallic inclusion.

摘要: There is provided a fatigue test method with which the crack growth can be checked for a plurality of cycle rates in a single test. At a first cycle rate f1 of 0.01 Hz, hydrogen has a greater effect on crack growth than at a second cycle rate f2 of 1 Hz. As a result, an area of large hydrogen effect (an area developed at the cycle rate f1) and an area of small hydrogen effect (an area developed at the cycle rate f2) appear alternately on the fatigue fracture surface, and since these two areas have different fracture surface morphologies, it is possible to see the boundary lines. Consequently, the lengths of the cracks developed under each set of conditions can be specified, and a fatigue crack growth curve can be acquired for each set of conditions.

摘要: There are provided a method and an apparatus for detecting damage to a high-pressure tank, with which a sign of failure of a high-pressure tank containing a high-pressure fluid can be detected early and non-destructively.An acoustic emission sensor (AE sensor) 1 is used for the non-destructive detection of a sign of failure that occurs upon filling a high-pressure tank 2 with a fluid. One AE signal detected by the AE sensor 1 is counted as one hit, the hit rate indicating the change in hits over time is found, and a sign of failure is detected from the change in the hit rate. When microcracks develop in the high-pressure tank 2, and a plurality of these microcracks join together and grow into a single, macroscopic crack, the hit rate of the AE signal no longer increases with respect to an increase in the internal pressure of the high-pressure tank 2, eventually reaching a saturation state. The hit rate in this saturation state is used to determine that there is a sign of failure.

摘要: Machine part is constituted with steel with the carbon content of 0.2% or more and reduced with the hydrogen content after hardening by a heat treatment to 0.04 ppm or less. Further, hardness after hardening by the heat treatment is made to Hv 450 or more. Since such a machine part is excellent in the super long life fatigue characteristics, it can be used suitably as a bearing ring or a rolling element of a rolling bearing.
