Abstract:
A method for producing a tubular underwater pipe including: assembling a structure of peripheral metal elements (3A, 3B, 3C) wound in an S-Z configuration about a central flexible core (1) as the core is driven in movement along its longitudinal axis; providing an inductive sensor (12) arranged for rotation about the central flexible core (1) in a manner synchronized with the longitudinal movement of the core so that the sensor scans the periphery of the structure opposite and in the immediate proximity of peripheral elements wound about the core and during the assembly step; using the sensor (12) to acquire measurement signals (S) of which the amplitude varies according to whether or not the sensor (12) is located opposite a peripheral element during the rotation of the sensor (12); and using the measurement signals to control the positioning of the assembled peripheral elements.
Abstract:
A assembling apparatus includes an electric cabinet, a manipulator, a conveying assembly, and a distribution assembly. The manipulator is controlled by the electric cabinet. The conveying assembly includes a vibration plate and a guide rail, the vibration plate is controlled by the electric cabinet. The distribution assembly includes a driving apparatus, a distribution board, and a connection board, the driving apparatus is directed by the electric cabinet, the guide rail is connected between the vibration plate and the connection board, and the distribution board is connected to the driving apparatus. The vibration plate conveys workpieces to the guide rail, the driving apparatus drives the distribution board to communicate with the connection board, the workpieces pass through the connection board and the distribution board, and the manipulator lifts the workpieces from the distribution board.
Abstract:
When plate-shaped components are inserted in the correct order and orientation into component insertion grooves of a component assembly jig, the component insertion grooves are blocked by the plate-shaped components, and the blowing of compressed air is stopped. When the blowing of compressed air from the component insertion grooves is stopped, the pressure in a compressed-air path increases, and an alignment-complete lamp is illuminated. Using the component assembly jig enables an assembly operation for overlapping the plurality of plate-shaped components in the correct order and orientation, without excess or deficiency, to be efficiently performed without error.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments of the invention disclose an exposure apparatus and a method of tuning parameters of a chuck, which may reduce a time taken to level the chuck by previously tuning parameters of the chuck. The method of tuning parameters of a chuck includes detecting a tilt component of the chuck, performing chuck tilt adjustment to minimize the tilt component of the chuck, and tuning the parameters of the chuck if a residual tilt component is present after performing the chuck tilt adjustment.
Abstract:
A system for assembling a first component and a second component comprises a support operatively supporting the first component without any fixtures, a vision system configured to view the supported first component and the second component and determine the locations thereof, a robotic system configured to move and position the second component relative to the first component, and a controller operatively connected to the vision system and to the robotic system and operable to control the robotic system to position the second component relative to the first component based on the locations determined by the vision system. Various methods of assembling the first component and the second component are provided to create a process joint prior to creation of a structural joint in a subsequent assembly operation.

Abstract:
A system for aligning a first and second pattern based on alignment structures is disclosed. The system comprises a first substrate including the first alignment structure. The alignment structure has a different magnitude of the electrical characteristic than the substrate. The system also includes an electrical probe and a controller for controlling the relative position of the probe with respect to the substrate to measure the electrical characteristic at a plurality of positions proximate the substrate. The measured electrical characteristics are used to identify the location of the alignment structure by identifying a difference between the measured electrical characteristic at pairs of the plurality of positions. A controller identifies the location of a second alignment structure formed on a second substrate. A registration mechanism aligns the two substrates using the identified locations of the first and second alignment structures.
Abstract:
The present application discloses methods and apparatus for installing fitting components, such as a conduit gripping device, on a conduit to form an assembly. The assembly is joinable with at least one other fitting component to form a fitting. The present application also discloses methods and apparatus for evaluating characteristics of components of a mechanically attached connection. Characteristics that may be evaluated include, but are not limited to, the position of a conduit gripping device on a conduit, an amount of axial compression or stroke of the conduit gripping device, an amount of clamping force applied to the conduit gripping device as the conduit gripping device is compressed, and an amount of torque applied to members that compresses the conduit gripping device.
