摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing a vitreous slag, which comprises: a pair of cooling drums, the peripheral surfaces of said pair of cooling drums being in contact with each other, and said pair of cooling drums rotating in directions opposite to each other at the same peripheral speed; a pair of weirs provided at the upper halves of the both ends of said pair of cooling drums so as to be in contact with said both ends of said pair of cooling drums, a slag sump being formed by means of said pair of weirs and the bodies of said pair of cooling drums, and molten slag being poured into said slag sump; a cooling medium for cooling said pair of cooling drums, said cooling medium comprising a high boiling point heat medium having a boiling point under 1 atmospheric pressure of at least 200.degree. C., said high boiling point heat medium being fed into each of said pair of cooling drums, exchanging heat with said molten slag in said slag sump, deposited onto the peripheral surfaces of said pair of cooling drums, and being discharged from each of said pair of cooling drums under a pressure of up to 5 kg/cm.sup.2 for heat recovery, whereby said molten slag is substantially completely converted into a vitreous slag through heat exchange with said high boiling point heat medium, and is peeled off from the peripheral surfaces of said pair of cooling drums by a scraper.

摘要: A molten metal pouring nozzle for a continuous casting machine having an endless-travelling type mold, wherein the endless-travelling type mold is formed with two pairs of opposing wall members endlessly travelling in the same direction and at the same speed, and one end of the pouring nozzle is connected to a tundish for receiving molten metal, and the other end of the pouring nozzle is inserted into the mold. The molten metal pouring nozzle of the present invention comprises a nozzle body made of a refractory and a flow regulator made of a refractory. The nozzle body (14, 20) has a bore (1a, 3a), through which molten metal flows, along the axial line thereof, and the sectional area of the downstream end portion of the bore (1a, 3a) becomes gradually larger toward the downstream end thereof. The flow regulator (15, 18) is arranged at the center of the downstream end portion of the bore (1a, 3a) of the nozzle body (14, 20). The flow regulator (15, 18) forms, in cooperation with the bore (1a, 3a), a path for molten metal, by which molten metal flowing through the bore (1a, 3a) impinges against the inner surface of the mold, near the downstream end of the nozzle body (14, 20).

摘要: A method for manufacturing alloy comprising: allowing a consumable electrode consisting a single metal element to form a pair of electrodes which have the same element, to set plurality of the pair so that an electrode metal element of each of the plurality of the pair may be different from one another; generating arc between the electrodes in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, to allow the consumable electrodes to be melted at their top ends; and allowing molten drops produced by the melting to go down into a mold to form molten metal, and the molten metal to be cast into alloy consisting of two metal elements. Two pairs consisting of the consumable electrodes allow the two consumable electrodes to be set on an axis, with a predetermined distance between their top ends, on horizontal plane above the mold. The two pairs of the consumable electrodes are alternated by three pairs of the consumable electrodes when alloy consisting of three metal elements.
