摘要： A gate valve has a valve rod equipped with a valve plate having a pair of valve plate surfaces, wherein the valve rod is tilted by an actuator to thereby effect highly reliable valve opening/closing operation with a simple construction. In the gate valve, the valve rod, which is equipped with the valve plate with the pair of valve plate surfaces, is rotatably supported, and raised and lowered by a raising/lowering cylinder, the valve rod being tilted by an actuator, a combination of a cam member and a cam raising/lowering cylinder, a combination of a driving block and a cylinder, or a combination of a connection member and a driving device (not shown) to thereby effect valve opening/closing with the pair of valve plate surfaces.

摘要： An image displayed on a liquid crystal panel is projected on a projection surface by a projection lens. An optical axis of a projection lens is perpendicular to the projection surface. However, alight emitting optical axis of a distance measurement light and an optical axis of a light receiving lens is inclined with respect to the optical axis of a projection lens, not to be perpendicular to the projection surface. A distance measurement unit is formed by unitizing a light emitting element, a light emitting lens, the light receiving lens, and a light receiving element, and the distance measurement unit is held with the projection lens by a common holder. Even if a surface like a whiteboard which has high reflectivity is used as the projection surface, high accuracy of the distance measurement is kept because diffused light from the light emitting lens, which is regularly reflected from the projection surface, is away from an effective photodetecting region of the light receiving element.

摘要： A distance measuring apparatus includes distance measuring units of the active and passive methods, and a distance-value selecting circuit for selecting and outputting one of distance measurement results obtained from these distance measuring units. When a self-timer mode is set, distance measurement of the active method is inhibited, and distance measurement is executed by only the passive method. When the power supply voltage is lower than a predetermined voltage value at which distance measurement can be properly executed by the active method, distance measurement by the active method is inhibited, and distance measurement is executed by only the passive method. Therefore, erroneous distance measurement can be prevented, and distance measurement having high reliability can be performed.

A pin hole for securing the glass article to the rotary shaft, which is formed on the rotary shaft along a minor axis of the slot; wherein a clearance between a peripheral surface of the slot and that of the cylindrical projection along the minor axis of the slot is set to not more than 0.2 mm, while a clearance between the peripheral surface of the slot and that of the cylindrical projection along a major axis of the slot is set to not less than 0.4 mm. An apparatus for supporting a glass article including first and second dummy rods and a coupling member is also provided. Pins extending through the respective dummy rods and coupling member secure the rods to the member.

摘要： A process for preparing a laminate by coating the surfaces of a metal substrate that has been treated with an anchor coating agent, with a modified olefin type resin and heat-adhering the olefin resin onto the surfaces of the metal substrate. The process of this invention is characterized by applying heat-treatment to the laminate at the time of adhesion or after the adhesion in the presence of a treating agent which consists of a compound prescribed in the general formulae (1) and (2). ##STR1## The laminate prepared by this process withstands deterioration of adhesion caused by aging, particularly in an atmosphere where water is present.
