    摘要: A modular fuel cell stack assembly comprising a plurality of fuel cell stacks, each of the stacks having a plurality of stack faces and a plurality of stack corners formed between the stack faces, wherein the plurality of stack faces include a cathode inlet face adapted to receive oxidant gas for use in a cathode side of the fuel cell stack, a cathode outlet face adapted to output cathode exhaust from the cathode side, an anode inlet face adapted to receive fuel for use in an anode side of the fuel cell stack and an anode outlet face adapted to output anode exhaust from the anode side, and wherein at least one of the cathode inlet face, cathode outlet face, anode inlet face and anode outlet face is an open face without a manifold, and a containment structure for housing the plurality of fuel cell stacks and for providing fuel and oxidant gas to said fuel cell stacks, the containment structure including at least one sealed chamber for sealingly enclosing and isolating at least one open face. Also provided is a modular fuel cell assembly comprising a plurality of fuel cell stacks, an oxidizer disposed centrally of the fuel cell stacks and adapted to receive anode exhaust from the fuel cell stacks, to generate oxidant gas using the anode exhaust and to distribute the oxidant gas to the fuel cell stacks, and a containment structure for housing the plurality of fuel cell stacks and the oxidizer and adapted to receive fuel and distribute the fuel to the fuel cell stacks.

    摘要: A surface-mounted electrical component has rectangular section leads that project outwardly from the edges of the component body. The leads are bent down towards the surface of the substrate and are twisted through 90 degrees about their length to make the leads compliant in a direction transverse of their width where they emerge from the body. The lower end of the leads are straight and untwisted, making a vertical butt solder joint with contact pads on the substrate. The twisted region of the leads are treated, such as by nickel plating, to render them non-wetted by solder. Because of the greater spacing possible between the contact pads, conductive tracks can extend through gaps between the contact pads beneath the body of the component.

    摘要: A rack for mounting electronic equipment comprises two spaced plates each having a series of aligned channels. Each item of electronic equipment is carried by a frame which is located in the guideway defined by an opposed pair of channels, and the frame is individually clamped in each channel. Large items of equipment are held in several frames interconnected by resilient metal strips, but each frame is still individually locked in its respective pair of channels. Thus each frame has an independent thermal path to each plate, with predictable, uniform characteristics; in addition, the entire assembly is resistant to dynamic loads. The plates and/or the frames may be force-ventilated.
