Pressure sealing of the unit is unnecessary, and the overall configuration is simple and easily manufactured.

摘要： An optical directional coupling apparatus includes an optical directional coupling device for permitting light of a predetermined polarization direction to be emitted from a second port when it is received at a first port of the coupling device, and for permitting only a light component of a polarization direction at a given angle with respect to the first polarization direction to be emitted from a third port when light is received at the second port. A polarization maintaining single mode fiber, is coupled at one end to the second port and has a main axis set at a predetermined angle with respect to the first polarization direction, wherein an optical fiber to be measured is connected at one end to the other end of said polarization maintaining single mode fiber.

摘要： An apparatus for measuring a thickness of an object transparent to light utilizing an interferometric method includes a light source for generating a coherent light beam to which an object to be measured is transparent, an illumination unit for radiating onto the object the incident light beam as scanned over a range of angle of incidence varying from a predetermined angle of incidence .theta..sub.A to another predetermined angle of incidence .theta..sub.B, and a photosensor unit for detecting light intensity changes resulting from changing of the optical path difference between two light beams reflected by the upper and lower surfaces of the object. A count circuit receives an output signal from the photosensor unit and counts the difference between an order of interference fringes obtained for one scan of incident light beam having the predetermined angle of incidence .theta..sub.A to that having the other predetermined angle of incidence .theta..sub.B, and a calculating circuit converts the output from the count circuit into a value corresponding to the thickness of the object.

摘要： A test rack for electronic equipment features an improved mechanism for inclining the test rack table in a smooth and effortless manner even when heavily loaded with equipment. Notches provided on a stopper plate are allowed to mate with a stopper shaft by sliding the stopper plate along a guide portion when the table is set at a desired angle of inclination. The stopper plate is constrained to slide at substantially right angles to the stopper shaft at all times so that the stopper shafts engages squarely with the notches to preclude jamming when the mechanism is operated under a heavy load.

摘要： A multi-item data input apparatus is disclosed whereby an operator can designate one of a plurality of items by actuation of a key, thereby generating a signal indicative of that item. The items are visibly printed or written on a number of item information sheets, each of which is enclosed between a transparent cover sheet and a base sheet each of which is flexible, with the sheets being rolled around a cylindrical holder in a successively overlapping manner. Means are provided whereby a sheet set, comprising an item information sheet with cover sheet and base sheet, can be selectively unrolled and positioned below a keyboard having transparent keys, to allow designation of items on that item information sheet. The item information sheets can be rapidly and conveniently removed, for exchange of sheets or for modification of item information.
