摘要: The device for cooling gases and optionally drying solid particles within the gases has a vertically arranged reactor housing. The gases pass through the reactor housing in the vertical direction. At least one inlet line is connected with its mouth to the reactor housing for introducing the gases in the vertical direction into the reactor housing. At least one nozzle, arranged within the area of the mouth, for introducing a liquid and optionally solid particles into the gases is provided. The mouth is in the form of a shock diffusor. At least one insert for generating a leading edge vortex system is arranged within the vicinity of the shock diffusor.

摘要: For increasing the separating capacity of a flue gas desulfurization apparatus, it is suggested to provide at least one baffle plate within the end section of the flue gas channel connected to the desulfurization reactor. The method for increasing the separating capacity of a flue gas desulfurization apparatus comprises the steps of guiding the flue gas through the flue gas channel in an essentially two-dimensional horizontal flow into the desulfurization reactor; arranging at least one baffle plate within an end section of the flue gas channel in the vicinity of the desulfurization reactor; generating at least one turbulence system with a stationary turbulence after system at a forward edge of the baffle plate; and transforming the essentially two-dimensional horizontal flow of the flue gas into a three-dimensional vertical upward flow by interweaving individual flow strands of the two-dimensional horizontal flow in the turbulence system with the stationary turbulence after system before the flue gas enters the scrubbing zone.

摘要: An apparatus for securing straight tubes between two tube sheets in a pressure-tight manner, especially in the manufacture of heat exchangers. Tubes are inserted, with play, in bores of the tube sheets. One end of each tube is hydraulically expanded via a pressure medium to thereby press this one end against the associated tube sheet. The one end is secured to the associated tube sheet, preferably by being welded thereto. Each tube is heated in conformity with a prescribed prestress that is to be produced in secured ones of the tube to take into account subsequent operation conditions to push a portion of the non-secured other end of the tube out of its associated tube sheet until a predetermined difference in length between the cold and heated-up states of the tube is pushed out. That portion of the other end of the tube that is disposed in one of the bores of the tube sheets is hydraulically expanded, whereupon the pushed-out end portion of the tube is secured to its associated tube sheet, preferably by being welded thereto. The expansion resulting from heating the tube is used as a control signal for the hydraulic expansion process. For this purpose, a switch for the valve for supplying pressure medium to the annular chamber is disposed on the expansion mechanism, with this switch being adapted to be activated by the end face of the tube that expands due to heat.

摘要: A contact body for a cooling tower in which water to be cooled is distributed from the top of the contact body and in which cooling air flows through the contact body in a cross current and/or counter current flow relative to the water flow, is comprised of a plurality of tubular lattice-type plastic bodies that are assembled to form a packaged element such that respective outer mantle surfaces of the tubular plastic bodies contact one another. The tubular plastic bodies are cut to length from a continuously manufactured endless tube that is formed of crossing stays. The cut length of the tubular plastic bodies corresponds to a selected dimension of the contact body, i.e., the height or width of the contact body. The ends of the tubular plastic bodies on at least one side of the packaged element are connected to one another, preferably by fusing.

摘要: A method and apparatus for securing one or more parts, each of which is provided with an opening, to a hollow member. In the starting state, the inner diameter of the opening of the parts is greater than the outer diameter of the surface provided on the hollow member for securing the part. The parts are placed in the prescribed position on the hollow member prior to the securing operation. In order in a simple and economical manner to reliably secure the parts to the hollow member without the danger of overstressing the latter, and without the danger that the parts will loosen, a temperature difference is produced, prior to placing the parts on the hollow member, by heating the parts and/or by cooling the hollow member. Subsequently, each part is secured to the hollow member by widening the latter at least in the securing regions thereof, and by a subsequent shrink fitting of the parts onto the hollow member as a consequence of the temperature equalization that occurs.

摘要: An apparatus for pulling transverse fins onto a plurality of pipes which are arranged fixed in position alongside of each other by means of carriers the two ends of which are swingably supported on respective endless carrier conveyor chains between a work position engaging the fin plates and a disengagement position releasing the fin plates, the carriers being provided with a support foot which holds the carriers in the work position. The support foot is supported on support members of an endless control chain which extend over the respective length of the pull-on region for the transverse fins and are moved by the control chain opposite the direction of movement of the carrier conveyor chains for the displacement of the point of release of the carriers corresponding to the transverse fins which have already been pulled on. In order to reduce the friction and increase the reliability of operation, at least one control chain is constructed as a three-strand chain the outer strands of which are supported on stationary support rails while its central strand is a direct support for the support feet of the carriers solely in the pull-on region.

摘要: An apparatus for damping the noise of water charged in a cooling tower onto the top of heat exchanger elements by a distributing device and dropping down from the bottom of the heat exchange elements into a collecting basin, by means of vertically inclined impact surfaces of rigid insert elements which are arranged above the collecting basin in the cooling tower. In order to avoid the direct impingement of drops of water onto the surface of the water without impairing access to the collecting basin even with a greatly varying level of water, the lower edge of the rigid impact surfaces is arranged above the maximum water level in the collecting basin and extended by a flexible guide tail which extends into the water of the collecting basin with a minimum water level. This guide tail can be pushed aside and held out of the way upon cleaning and continuously diverts the water film into the vertical direction so that a noisy separation of the water film is made impossible.
