摘要: The present system as disclosed herein provides for a battery mount system configured to position batteries below an upper plane of a cross member of an electric vehicle chassis. The system of the present application provides a semi-isolated electric vehicle battery mount for a torsionally flexible chassis. The system includes a bracket configured to enable the batteries to be positioned below and between the cross members of the chassis. The bracket generally includes battery hangers and corresponding mounts, a pivot, a pivot pin, a pivot bracket all mounted to the cross member enabling the batteries to rest below an upper plane of the cross member and pivotable with respect to the cross member.

摘要: An electric automotive vehicle gross vehicle rating of greater than 10,000 pounds includes an electric powertrain connected to the frame and positioned at a base of the frame. The vehicle includes a first central axis, and the weight of the electric powertrain is centered about the first central axis. All drivetrain components of the vehicle other than the electric powertrain may be positioned above the base of the electric powertrain. The vehicle includes two electric drive units configured to drive the front and rear axles respectively. The electric drive units consist of an electric motor, motor controller, two speed electrically actuated gearbox, electrically actuated park lock, and electrically actuated locking differential. The drive units transmit power to inboard mounted brakes, which in turn are connected by constant velocity driveshaft to the wheel hubs where a further final gear reduction resides. Additionally, the suspension of the vehicle utilizes a dynamically adjustable hydraulic suspension that is capable of automatically leveling the vehicle and also provides capability to adjust nominal vehicle ride height. The vehicle is capable of multiple modes of operation, and in one mode the vehicle is able to export electrical power for usage outside of the vehicle. The vehicle body has been designed in multiple embodiments, including a sport utility model and pickup truck model. Additionally, each embodiment is designed with available two door and four door variants. All vehicle variants utilize the aforementioned common powertrain and chassis.

摘要: A unitary (one-piece) construction of an electric vehicle chassis is provided having at least one s-bend aft of the front axle to allow battery packs to mount on isolators inside of the frame rails. The overall width of the frame (at the widest) is 4-6″ wider as compared to traditional (non-ev) vehicles. This increased width is provided for to accommodate the battery packs required for operation of the electric vehicle. The s-bend allows for front wheel steering angles greater than if rails were straight. In some embodiments, a second s-bend directs the frame again outwards to accommodate additional components and to increase strength of the overall frame. The present wide and s-bend configuration allows for mounting of rear springs underneath of the frame rails for extra support and more efficient and improved packaging. The cross member further allows for front spring mounting to the frame.

摘要: A battery mount system for a battery pack on an electric vehicle. The system isolates the battery with a three point mount whereby the battery pack stresses are then reduced while maintaining torsional flexibility of the chassis. By mounting the batteries between the frame rails, they are better protected. The present system allows an electric vehicle chassis to remain flexible in twist (torsion) along the longitudinal axis while containing one or more rigid battery packs inside and/or underneath the frame rails, reducing stress and force on the battery packs. Bushings are mounted either on the chassis or on the battery. There are two bushings or brackets on either the front or rear of the battery, and one bushing on either the front or rear of the battery. (i.e. 2 on the front, 1 in the rear, or 1 in the front, 2 in the rear).
