摘要: A liquid crystal display device 10 includes: a transparent substrate 11; a plurality of signal lines 17 and scan lines 16 arranged on the transparent substrate 11 in a matrix; a plurality of auxiliary capacitor lines 18 provided between the scan lines 16 so as to be in parallel with the scan lines 16; thin film transistors (TFTs) each provided in a vicinity of an intersection of the signal lines 17 and scan lines 16; and pixel electrodes 20 arranged in respective positions defined by the signal lines 17 and the scan lines 16 and each electrically connected to a drain electrode D of the thin film transistor (TFT); in which the thin film transistor (TFT)'s gate electrode G and the scan line 16 are covered by a gate insulating film formed by an insulating film (a first layer) 25 and an insulating layer (a second layer) 26, and the drain electrode D of the thin film transistor (TFT) extends to overlie an auxiliary capacitor electrode 18a, with the insulating layer (the second layer) 26 interposed between the drain electrode D and the auxiliary capacitor electrode 18a. As a result, it will be possible to provide a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided, in which the capacitance of an auxiliary capacitor electrode is increased without reducing the aperture ratio of each pixel and which is suitable to realize a relatively small pixel area and high definition.

摘要: In a liquid crystal display module, fitting parts 19a for fastening the liquid crystal display module are provided in the corners of a rear case 19 provided with pressings close to the corners thereof, the corners being located toward the inner sections of the rear case, and not at its periphery, whereby plastic support elements 25 are installed to the fitting parts 19a, and mounting brackets 20 for fastening are installed to the rear case via screws that are screwed into screw holes 19b formed in the fitting parts 19a. In this manner, a liquid crystal module for use in a car navigation system, etc., is provided whose fitting portions occupy a small space and can be compactly housed in its onboard location.

摘要: The invention is directed to narrowing a frame of a liquid crystal display device including a display pixel region and a dummy pixel region adjacent thereto. The display pixel region including a plurality of pixels each having a pixel selection TFT and a pixel electrode connected thereto is formed on a first substrate. The dummy pixel region including a plurality of dummy pixels each having a pixel selection TFT and a pixel electrode connected thereto and shielded from light by a black matrix is formed adjacent to the display pixel region. A driving TFT, that is, a sampling TFT is further formed being superposed on the pixel electrode of the dummy pixel. That is, the pixel electrode of the dummy pixel is superposed on at least a portion of a channel region of the sampling TFT with a planarization insulation film interposed therebetween.

Among the plurality of pixels, pixels adjacent to each other across the address main line are set to be specific pixel groups, and among at least two of the specific pixel groups, the color arrangement of the color filters of one specific pixel group is different from the color arrangement of the color filters of another specific pixel group.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposed to each other with a liquid crystal layer having liquid crystal molecules disposed therebetween, in which a first electrode and a second electrode are provided on a side of the first substrate opposed to the liquid crystal layer, the liquid crystal layer is driven by means of an electric field generated between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a reflective display area for reflective display and a transmissive display area for transmissive display are formed in a sub-pixel area. Alignment of the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer is different in the transmissive display area and the reflective display area.

The liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines that intersects the plurality of scan lines, a plurality of pixel switching devices dispose corresponding to intersections of the data lines and the scan lines, a plurality pixel electrodes connected with the plurality of pixel switching devices, a common electrode facing the pixel electrodes to form capacitors, a common power supply circuit connected with the common electrode and outputting a square wave alternating between a higher electric potential and a lower electric potential at a regular intervals and a first reference electric potential power supply circuit outputting a first reference electric potential to the scan lines through a low impedance at a common electric potential inversion timing that is a timing of alternation of the square wave, wherein an impedance from the common power supply circuit to the common electrode is approximately equal to an impedance from the first reference electric potential power supply circuit to the scan lines.

摘要: The invention is directed to the higher contrast in a display device with a lighting device as a front light and a reflective LCD. A lighting device is disposed, being opposed to a front surface of a reflective electrode of a reflective LCD. An organic EL element layer including an anode, a cathode patterned into stripes, and an organic layer is formed in the lighting device. A region of the organic layer corresponding to the cathode serves as an emissive region. A light shield layer is formed covering the cathode. Furthermore, a diffraction grating made of an aluminum layer and having a plurality of fine slits formed by patterning is disposed on the reflective LCD, as a polarizing layer that can be formed thinner as much as possible.

Consequently, it is possible to provide an active matrix liquid crystal display device in which a large number of dummy pixel electrodes are provided without increasing the area of the non-effective display region and which is capable of dealing with multiple entries of static electricity from terminals.
