摘要: Provided are a thermoplastic polymer and a method of forming a thermoplastic polymer. The thermoplastic polymer includes a thermoplastic polymer including one or more fatty acids derived from a plant-based oil. In some embodiments, the thermoplastic polymer includes a structure according to the formula (C18HxO2)y, wherein each x is individually selected from the group consisting of 32 and 33, and wherein y is between 1 and 300. The method of forming a thermoplastic polymer including epoxidizing a plant-based oil to form an epoxidized plant-based oil; saponifying the epoxidized plant-based oil to separate the fatty acids from the glycerol; and then polymerizing the separated fatty acids to form the thermoplastic polymer.

摘要: An extracorporeal system for lung assist includes a housing which includes a blood flow inlet in fluid connection with a pressurizing stator compartment, a fiber bundle compartment in fluid connection with the pressurizing stator compartment via a flow channel within the housing, and a blood flow outlet in fluid connection with the fiber bundle compartment. An impeller is rotatably positioned within the pressurizing compartment. The system further includes a fiber bundle with a plurality of hollow gas permeable fibers extending generally perpendicular to the direction of bulk flow of blood through the fiber bundle compartment from the flow channel to the blood flow outlet.

摘要: An imaging probe adapter for measuring the properties of a lumen like the vaginal canal, the rectum, or anal sphincter. The device has an adapter body with a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end of the adapter body may be formed into an insertion tip capable of easy insertion into the appropriate lumenal structure. An inflatable pressure chamber covers the distal end of the adapter body. A baseplate formed on the proximal end of the adapter body incorporates fluid channels for inflating the pressure chamber and a probe channel that receives an ultrasound probe or other suitable imaging probe. The device is used to measure and model lumenal biomechanical properties such as stiffness, compliance, elastic versus viscous contributions to overall stiffness, and total displacement.

摘要: The present invention relates to a vaccine composition comprising a Staphylococcus aureus attenuated enterotoxin protein and cytotoxin protein, and more particularly to a Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin protein, a Staphylococcus aureus cytotoxin protein, a vaccine composition for prevention of bovine mastitis, comprising the Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin protein and Staphylococcus aureus cytotoxin protein and a method for preventing bovine mastitis comprising administering the vaccine composition to a bovine. The Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin protein, the Staphylococcus aureus cytotoxin protein according to the present invention, and the vaccine composition comprising the proteins as an antigen can be used so that even vaccines comprising several antigens rather than all kinds of antigens show the excellent effects of prevention and treatment of bovine mastitis against all kinds of Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin and cytotoxin having high incidence in Korea, thereby being more economically used for industrial purposes. Further, the vaccine composition for prevention of bovine mastitis, comprising the Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin protein and Staphylococcus aureus cytotoxin protein according to the present invention has an excellent safety and bovine mastitis prevention and treatment effect even in the high CFU Staphylococcus aureus challenge test so that the composition can be variously utilized in Staphylococcus aureus vaccine and prevention related fields in future.

摘要: The present invention provides a novel process and system in which a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen synthesis gas, or syngas, is converted into hydrocarbon mixtures composed of high quality gasoline components, aromatic compounds, and lower molecular weight gaseous olefins in one reactor or step. The invention utilizes a novel molybdenum-zeolite catalyst in high pressure hydrogen for conversion, as well as a novel rhenium-zeolite catalyst in place of the molybdenum-zeolite catalyst, and provides for use of the novel catalysts in the process and system of the invention.

The method and composition provide an efficacious and safe CRISPR/Cas9 antimicrobial, broadly applicable to MRSA.
