摘要: A hydrophobic filter for filtering an airflow or another gaseous flow in a medical application has a housing encompassing a filter chamber, an inlet port arranged on the housing and forming an inlet opening, an outlet port arranged on the housing and forming an outlet opening, and a hydrophobic structure extending along a plane of extension and separating the filter chamber into an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber. The inlet opening opens into the inlet chamber and the outlet opening opens into the outlet chamber. Herein, the outlet opening opens into the outlet chamber at a first location when viewed along the plane of extension and the inlet opening opens into the inlet chamber at a second location different from the first location when viewed along the plane of extension.

摘要: Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for an extracorporeal, artificial, placenta. In some embodiments, an artificial placenta and amniotic bed system may comprise a control unit, a gas delivery unit, a gas exchange unit or membrane oxygenator, a fluids delivery unit, an amniotic fluid bed, and a human machine interface. In some embodiments, the artificial placenta and amniotic bed systems, devices, and methods described herein may improve survival rates and minimize long-term disabilities in preterm, gestational-age, newborns. In some embodiments, the extracorporeal systems, devices, and methods comprise an artificial network through which oxygen and nutrient-rich blood may flow into a fetus (residing in an amniotic fluid bed), while carbon dioxide and wastes may be removed, thus re-establishing a form of intrauterine placental circulation.

摘要: A veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system includes a dual lumen drainage cannula configured for withdrawing blood from a patient's vasculature in a manner that provides a perfusion of oxygenated blood with reduced carbon dioxide content while unloading the left ventricle, with two points of access to the patient's vasculature. The dual lumen drainage cannula has a first drainage tube and a second drainage tube co-axially aligned with the first drainage tube. The first and second drainage tubes are fluidly coupled to a connector. A blood pump having a pump inlet is configured for fluidly connecting with the connector, while an oxygenator having an oxygenator inlet is configured for fluidly connecting with a pump outlet. An infusion cannula is configured for fluidly connecting with an oxygenator outlet for infusing oxygenated blood into a patient's bloodstream.

摘要: An artificial lung in a circulation apparatus can be monitored and be maintained in a safe condition without manual assistance. As an extracorporeal circulation mode starts, it is determined first whether or not gas exchange of the artificial lung is carried out within a normal range, based on oxygen concentration which is detected by an oxygen sensor positioned at a downstream place in the artificial lung. If the gas exchange is carried out within the normal range, an estimated value for gas supply volume of a gas blender is maintained. When oxygen concentration exceeding the normal range is detected, the gas blender is controlled so as to revise the gas supply volume downward. In addition, when oxygen concentration falls below the normal range, the gas blender is controlled so as to revise the gas supply volume upward.

摘要: Provided is a pressure gauge capable of being effectively used for internal pressure measurement of a balloon catheter and capable of providing easy monitoring of a pressure value even when measuring internal pressure of an extracorporeal circulation circuit. The pressure gauge measures internal pressure of a balloon catheter used for treatment and diagnosis or pressure of a body lumen of a living body and includes a coil-shaped tube 2 to elastically deform. One end of the tube 2 is set as an open fixed end and the other end is set as a sealed free end and pressure introduced from the open fixed end can be measured based on a displacement position of the tube 2 due to the pressure.

摘要: A highly reliable circulation apparatus promptly detects an abnormal state of a status value related to blood flowing in a circulation circuit with no particular operation performed. As an extracorporeal circulation mode starts, a user operates a pump first and waits until a flow rate is stabilized. Then, when the flow rate is stabilized, a predetermined value is added to or subtracted from the stabilized flow rate so as to set two threshold values which regulate an upper end and a lower end of a permissible state range. Then, it is monitored whether or not the flow rate is within the permissible state range regulated by the threshold values, and when the flow rate deviates from the permissible state range, an alarm is issued for notification.
