摘要： A system for controlling the density of bales formed in a round baler includes a hydraulic cylinder unit of the single acting type connected between the frame of the round baler and a pair of arms which are pivotally mounted on the baler frame. These arms carry a set of conveying members or rollers and are movable between a bale starting position and a full bale position. The bale density control system includes a control valve that is adjustable in order to permit fluid flow from the hydraulic cylinder unit to a reservoir when the fluid pressure in the hydraulic cylinder unit reaches a preselected level. When the arms move from their bale starting position to their full bale position, the hydraulic cylinder unit is contracted and fluid flows from the hydraulic cylinder unit to the reservoir via the control valve when the preselected level of fluid pressure is reached. Conversely, when the arms move from their full bale position to their bale starting position, the hydraulic cylinder unit is extended and fluid flows from the reservoir to the hydraulic cylinder unit via a one way check valve.

摘要： A harvesting machine comprising a transversely extending threshing mechanism having a threshing cylinder cooperable with a threshing concave for threshing a layer of crop material fed therebetween and a separating mechanism having a first and a second separating component, operable to submit the layer of crop material received from the threshing mechanism to a first and a second separating action. The first component comprises a separator cylinder cooperable with a separator concave and has a plurality of beater means transversely spaced apart on the width thereof. The beater means are arranged to impact on sections of the layer of crop material received from the threshing mechanism, thus submitting said material to said first separating action and conveying it to the second component. The second component comprises at least one separator rotor cooperable with a separator housing including a separator concave. The separator rotor carries at least one separator means which extends lengthwise of the rotor and which is arranged spirally to convey crop material received from the first separator component around the rotor to one of its ends while submitting it to said second separating action.

摘要： A glide slope coupler, adapted for use in an integrated automatic pilot and flight director system provides apparatus for guiding an aircraft with respect to a radio defined glide slope to a flare out point, and for providing the flare out command for an automatic landing or for a flight director landing. An integrating device is used for synchronizing the coupler prior to glide slope mode engagement, and operates as a radio error integrator subsequent to autopilot glide slope engagement. The integrator operates to wash out the steady state flight path angle subsequent to flight director glide slope engagement. In the synchronizing mode, the elevator actuator amplifier output is forced to zero by the integrator to assure that no engage transients occur. At the same time, the integrator output is initialized by virtue of the system gain ratios, to a value approximately equal to the desired glide slope flight path angle. After glide slope engagement, the integrator output is summed with signals representing craft displacement from the glide slope, craft flight path angle, and short term damping signals, all for operation of the craft elevator surface or a flight director indicator pitch bar to reduce the radio defined path displacement to zero. As the aircraft descends through approximately 50 feet, radio gains are reduced to zero and the flare computer automatically computes a flare point and issues the proper flare commands for the specific conditions relative to descent rates and winds for each approach. The flare command automatically reduces shortly after touch down to cause the nose wheel to settle firmly on the landing surface. If the craft has a tendency to float due to abnormal conditions, this reduction in flare command will slightly increase the descent rate to assure a touch down within the longitudinal requirements.

摘要： A mobile compact stack forming machine includes a stack forming platform, a rectangular enclosure positioned above the platform, a carriage mounted to opposite sides of the enclosure for movement between its opposite ends and coupled to opposite ends of a packing roll which extends across the enclosure and platform. A pair of endless flexible drive chains are mounted along the enclosure sides for driving the carriage between the enclosure ends and thereby causing the packing roll to progressively compact the crop material as the stack thereof is progressively formed on the platform. Means are also provided for sensing the density of the stack being formed and compacted and for elevating the enclosure whenever a desired level of stack density is sensed to maintain the enclosure about an upper portion of the stack for laterally supporting such portion during further compaction of additional crop material on the stack by the packing roll.

摘要： A filter includes a cylindrical filter element which is arranged to normally have fluid passed therethrough. A linear bypass valve opens in response to a predetermined pressure drop through the filter element and operates an indicator when the valve is opened. A spring within the filter element holds the valve closed at other times. A second spring opens the valve when the filter element or the spring or both are omitted, thus causing the indicator to be shifted in the same manner as when the pressure drop across the element is too high. A compressor for the second spring holds it under stress by contact with the element, making the action of the bypass valve and the indicator independent of the second spring when the pressure drop through the element becomes excessive.
