Abstract:
A forage harvester configured for chopping harvested crops and producing a stream of chopped crop material. The harvester includes a rotatable blower drum mounted in a blower housing, for propelling the stream of crop material into an outlet duct of the harvester. The blower drum has an open structure which allows a flow of air in the axial direction of the drum. The blower drum is mounted between two sidewalls of the blower housing, at least one of the sidewalls comprising one or more air inlet openings. The harvester further includes at least one set of axial flow turbine blades, mounted between the blower drum and one or both of the sidewalls of the blower housing, the blades being rotatable about the blower drum's rotation axis.
Abstract:
A bale processor of a type for tearing apart a bale of forage material into filamentary material includes a shredder rotor with blades that remove filamentary portions of the bale and delivers such filamentary material directly to a multiple fan blower for blowing such filamentary material directly to and out of a delivery chute. An independent dual discharge feature permits discharge out of either side and/or one or more blowers placed closer to the shredder rotor can be used independently of the dual discharge feature and the multiple fan blower feature.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a process to provide a particulate solid carbonaceous material to a pressurized gasification reactor comprising following steps, (a) transporting the solid material from a first lower pressure zone to a higher pressure zone using a bulk materials pump comprising a housing having a flow path for the solid material between an inlet fluidly connected to the first lower pressure zone and an outlet fluidly connected to the higher pressure zone, wherein said flow path in said housing is further defined by a space between two rotatable drive disks spaced from each other and wherein a materials scraper is present between said drive disks at the outlet to route a cake of solid material that is being transported between said drive disks to a transport conduit, which transport conduit fluidly connects the outlet of said housing and a burner as present in the gasification reactor, and (b) injecting a gaseous stream into the cake of solid material where the cake of solid material is discharged from the housing and enters the transport conduit, and (c) transporting the solid material and the gaseous stream in a transport conduit to the burner.
Abstract:
A harvester (1) comprises an engine and machinery housing (2), a discharge chute (6) which is movably mounted on the engine and machinery mounting (2) and which carries a first outfeed point (7) and a second outfeed point (12) for harvested crop, and means for switching a flow of harvested crop from one of the outfeed points (7, 12) to the other.
Abstract:
An apparatus for collection of yard debris combines a vacuum pick up with a blower unit, a separator, and a detachable accumulator with an attached roller to support the accumulator upon detachment from the separator. The apparatus collects and entrains debris in an airflow induced at the vacuum pickup, impels the debris to the separator which removes the debris from the airflow, and deposits it in the accumulator which is supported by a roller to aid subsequent dumping when the accumulator is detached.
Abstract:
Apparatus for evacuating water and dirt from a cooler box of a cooling system, incorporated with a blow-off for an air screen of the system. The water and dirt will flow through an aperture in a lower region of the cooler box into a smaller box of the apparatus disposed therebelow. A fan operable for generating the air flow through the air screen and the cooler box, also blows a portion of the flow through a blow-off channel to the air screen for blowing debris away from the air screen. The channel and smaller box are cooperatively configured such that the air flow through the channel will generate a partial vacuum condition in the smaller box operable for evacuating the water and the dirt into the channel so as to be carried away with debris from the air screen.
Abstract:
A rear discharge mower deck has at least two cutting blades mounted on vertical spindles in cutting chambers, a fan in a housing mounted on the deck over the cutting chambers, and an inlet opening between the cutting chambers and the fan housing. The surface area of the inlet opening may be between about 50% and about 80% of the surface area within the fan diameter. A stripper plate may be on one edge of the inlet opening, and each cutting chamber may have an upwardly sloping tunnel to the inlet opening.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for receiving and comminuting cut items in a mowing unit (10) for taking care of lawns and the countryside. The cutting unit (10) comprises at least one cutting system which is made up of at least one cutting unit (20). The invention is characterised in that the device comprises a chopping machine (30) which receives, comminutes and transfers cut items (120) into an ejecting unit (80), said cut items being produced by at least one cutting unit (20). The rotational axis (50) of the chopping machine (30) is inclined in relation to the rotational axis (21) of the cutting unit (20).
Abstract:
A blade assembly is provided for a lawn mower which includes first and second fan blades to maintain the interior of the blade housing free of accumulated grass clippings as occur when mowing damp or wet grass. The blade assembly includes a conventional grass cutting blade and two axially spaced and radially displaced fan blades which are affixed to the engine shaft, above the cutting blade. The fan blades create sufficient turbulence within the housing to prevent grass accumulation, thereby improving the ability and efficiency of the mower.
Abstract:
A grass cutting machine comprising a chassis including a chamber for receiving a cushion of air for supporting the chassis, a cutting member, a power source, a drive line for drivingly connecting the power source and the cutting member, a source of pressure air, and a grass collection device. The collection device comprises a receptacle for receiving cut grass and includes a base wall, an upper wall, and at least one side wall. The receptacle has at least one inlet disposed externally of the chamber and in the region of the base wall for entry of cut grass entrained in a stream of air directly into the receptacle part of at least the base wall includes an air permeable region to retain cut grass in the receptacle and to permit the said stream of air to be drawn through cut grass retained in the receptacle and through the air permeable region in the bases wall so as, to filter the air stream and compact the cut grass in the receptacle.
