摘要： Reverse gating is added to a conventional compression molding machine so that when the molding cavity is filled with material in excess of the amount required to mold a part, the material flows from the cavity to a pressure chamber to be vented. Pressure in the chamber allows back flow of the material from the chamber to the molding cavity during cooling to compensate for shrinkage.

摘要： A closure including a standard threaded cap having a tamper indicating band depending from the cap skirt by frangible webs. The tamper indicating band has an inwardly directed bead which cooperates with a flange on the container neck which allows the band to rotate with the cap but prevents the band from being removed past the container flange. Alternatively the tamper indicating band contains spaced ratchet teeth which engage ratchet teeth on the container neck to prevent further rotation. A rotary seal is provided between the cap and container neck which is effective for an axial length A greater than the sum of a distance B between the cap bead and the container flange when the cap is tightened or the axial movement of the cap in rotating the ratchet teeth into contact and the distance C which the frangible webs stretch before fracture. Thus the rotary seal prevents access to the product prior to breaking the tamper indicating band loose from the cap.

摘要： A tamper indicating closure and closure-container package in which a tamper indicating skirt depends from the bottom of the annular wall of a standard threaded cap. The skirt includes a plurality of equally spaced depending ribs which are joined at their extremities by a flexible ring. The ring and the skirt ribs pass over lugs on the container neck when the cap is being threaded onto the closure. When the cap is being unthreaded, the lugs engage the rings to sever them indicating tampering or prior opening.

The insert is in the form of a plastic disk molded with a portion which engages a recess in the container neck and is retained therein. In one form the safety feature provides tamper indication by using a circumferential frangible opening line and a pull tab for removal of a portion of the disk. In another form, the safety feature provides child-resistant access to the container by acting as a pivoting door having a closing feature when the opening force is removed.

The container neck terminates in an annular end wall having a plurality of circumferentially spaced ratchet teeth which coact with the top of the closure cap allowing threading on but locking the cap to the container against unthreading removal. Tamper indication can be provided by an integrally molded insert across the dispensing orifice which is removed by a pull tab.

摘要： A large size barrel-shaped dent ball for removing dents in curved and tapered tubing having a diameter between 21/2 and 41/2 inches such as a tuba. The ball is constructed with a hardwood core and a steel band about the center portion of its length. An axial steel tube is also inserted in the hardwood core to facilitate use and removal of the ball from the tube. This composite structure reduces the overall weight so that the ball can be manipulated during use. A cable tool on which the dent ball can be strung between two metal impact balls is also presented. Reciprocation of the cable provides repeated impact of a metal impact ball against the barrel-shaped dent ball to drive the dent ball under and past the dent in a dent removal and tool retrieval direction.

摘要： A container or bottle closure in the form of a one-piece cap. The cap is formed with a flat top and a depending skirt having means for attachment to the container neck such as internal threads which mate with complementary threads on the container. An annular flange depends downwardly from the cap top to act as a sealing between the closure and the container. A vent is provided through the cap top to equalize the container pressure to atmospheric pressure. The vent takes the form of a plurality of orifices created by a laser beam which produces a hole of a diameter of 0.003 inches or less. Gas may flow equally well from the inside of the container outwardly or from the outside of the container inwardly, depending upon the pressure difference. The orifice diameter is sufficiently small to prevent the flow of a liquid product through the holes under the same pressure difference.

摘要： A tamper indicating child resistant package including a screw type closure for use with a container having a threaded neck portion. The package is comprised of a lock member on a container adjacent to the threaded neck, a closure having a top with coaxial inner and outer skirts, one or more lock elements depending from the outer skirt. The lock member is engageable with the lock elements to deflect the outer skirt to permit clearance of the lock elements and lock member upon closing of the closure relative to the container. The lock element is further deflectable radially outwardly upon radial inward squeezing of the outer skirt to clear the lock member upon removal of the closure from the container. A tamper indicating means is provided to maintain the lock element in circumferentially aligned relationship relative to the lock member, and is further provided with stop elements to cooperatively engage the stop lugs on the container. The tamper indicating means prevents removal of the closure before separating the tamper indicating means from the remainder of the closure giving evidence that the container has been tampered with.
