    摘要: Transport distraction apparatus for performing transport distraction osteogenesis is provided which includes a track capable of being formed into a curvilinear shape with a carriage movable longitudinally along the track. The carriage has a fixation plate secured or securable to it and at least one gear for moving the carriage along the track in order to adjust its position relative to the length of the track. The track has a series of formations extending along one edge of the track and engaged by the gear which is at least partially accommodated within a space between a plane including the front face of the track and a plane including the rear face of the track. Preferably, the apparatus creates a gap between a central region of the track and a patient's bone in use. A fixation plate is also provided.

    摘要: A surgical distance adjusting assembly for a distractor has a base having a first connecting portion configured to hold a first bone attachment member and a carrier having a second connecting portion configured to hold a second bone attachment member. The base and the carrier are movable relative to each other, wherein the first and second connecting portions provide a releasable mechanical coupling to the first and second bone attachment members. The releasable mechanical coupling comprises a hook member at one or both of the first and second connecting portions and configured to engage the respective bone attachment member. Alternatively, the releasable mechanical coupling comprises an opening at one or both of the first and second connecting portions. The opening has a thread for a fixation screw configured to releasable couple the respective bone attachment member to the respective connecting portion.

    摘要: A pediatric mandibular distractor comprising a housing member elongating along a longitudinal axis, the housing member having at least one elongated slot elongating along at least a portion of the longitudinal axis and opening laterally through at least a side portion of the housing member; at least one fixed footplate attached to the housing member; a drive rod; and at least one moveable footplate engageable with the drive rod through the elongated slot by a connector. Wherein, when the fixed and moveable footplates are attached to the respective first and second bone surfaces, a bottom portion of the housing member is proximate to the first and second bone surfaces, and the side portion is further from the bone surfaces than the bottom portion in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis. Methods of assembling and installing the exemplary pediatric mandibular distractor summarized above are also disclosed.

    摘要: A resin MMF/reimplantation kit is provided with a dental arch bar that includes an elongated pliable splint and a plurality of attachment members. The pliable splint includes an interiorly facing side surface and an exteriorly facing side surface. The pliable splint includes a curable component that cures from a moldable state to a rigid state in less than one minute upon being activated. The attachment members can be ether partially embedded in the pliable splint or can be separate from the pliable splint until after the pliable splint is attached to the patient's teeth.
