摘要: An adjustable spinal implant includes a lower body, an upper body, a locking pawl, and a locking key. The upper body and the lower body are pivotable relative to one another between a collapsed position and an expanded position. The upper body includes a locking flange that extends towards the lower body. The locking pawl is coupled to the lower body and is moveable between a locked position such that the upper and lower bodies are fixed relative to the one another and an unlocked position such that the upper and lower bodies are moveable relative to one another. The locking key is moveable between a locked state such that the locking pawl is fixed in the locked position and an unlocked state wherein the locking pawl is moveable between the locked position and the unlocked position.

摘要: An intervertebral insert member and an instrument for positioning the insert in a space between vertebral bodies in vivo. The insert member is advanced by the instrument into a prepared site located between adjacent vertebral bodies. Upon reaching the appropriate insertion point, the sleeve is retracted and a pivotal motion is imparted to the insert. The insert member is pivotally attached to the distal end of the delivery instrument such that it can be articulated about a pivot point that is located on the insert member until it is properly positioned. The positioning instrument is then released from the insert member and removed from the space between the vertebral bodies. An adjustment screw is available to expand the surfaces of the insert member by displacement of a wedge member within the insert.

摘要: An interbody spinal fusion cage for posterior interbody fusion procedures includes a superior member and an inferior member connected to each other via a joint. The joint allows the interbody spinal fusion cage to achieve lordosis even if implanted non-orthogonal to the sagittal plane. For example, the joint can be a hinge oriented non-normal to a longitudinal axis of the interbody spinal fusion cage, a polyaxial ball joint, and/or a universal joint. Complementary locking mechanisms, such as locking teeth or a ratchet-and-pawl arrangement, can be provided near the posterior ends of the superior and inferior members in order to prohibit the posterior ends of the superior and inferior members from separating from each other in situ. Bone holes can be provided in the superior and inferior members.

摘要: A laterally deflectable asymmetric implant for implanting into a body may comprise a deflectable piece having distal and proximal ends and assuming a straightened insertion state. The backbone may abut or interconnect with said deflectable piece at the distal end of the deflectable piece. In a fully deflected state the implant may define an asymmetric shape, e.g. a D-shaped loop, defining an at least partially enclosed volume. The deflectable piece may comprise a sequence of segments interconnected at effective hinges. Longitudinal pressure applied to the proximal end of the deflectable piece (or applied to the backbone in an opposite direction) may cause relative longitudinal movement between the backbone and the proximal end of the deflectable piece and may generate outward horizontal movement of the deflectable piece away from the backbone. In one embodiment, the implant is implanted using lateral access into an anterior zone of a vertebra and deployed posteriorly.

摘要: An intervertebral insert member and an instrument for positioning the insert in a space between vertebral bodies in vivo. 摘要: An implanting apparatus and an operating method thereof are provided. An implanting apparatus used for implanting an intervertebral cage into a location between two adjacent vertebral bodies, wherein the implanting apparatus comprises a sleeve and an extension member. The extension member has a rod and a coupling column, wherein the rod is screwed inside the sleeve, the coupling column is connected to one end of the rod and exposed outside the sleeve, and the axial direction of the coupling column is substantially perpendicular to that of the rod. When one end of the coupling column is disposed on an inner arc surface of a connecting portion of the intervertebral cage and the rod is rotated with respect to the sleeve, the distance between the coupling column and the sleeve is decreased so as to clamp the connecting portion of the intervertebral cage between the coupling column and the sleeve.
