A wind scavenger including a frame, a litter collection unit, a lower gear-wheel assembly, an upper gear-wheel assembly, a net element, and a fan system is provided. The litter collection unit is attached to a base member of the frame. The litter collection unit includes a receptacle for collecting litter. The net element includes flexibly jointed plates for catching the litter blown by wind. The fan system is connected to the upper gear-wheel assembly via a power transmission system. The fan system, in communication with the wind, rotates the upper gear-wheel assembly and in turn rotates the net element around the upper gear-wheel assembly and the lower gear-wheel assembly and vice versa. The rotation of the net element from the upper gear-wheel assembly to the lower gear-wheel assembly conveys the litter caught by the flexibly jointed plates of the net element into the receptacle of the litter collection unit.

A smoke filter includes a housing formed with an upper casing and a lower casing. A filtration passage with a bending section is formed between the upper casing and the lower casing and further, a replaceable filtration cloth device is provided in the interior of the housing and the filtration cloth of the replaceable filtration device passes through the filtration passage. By so designing, the smoke filter of this invention is able to increase a filtration area, enhance filtration efficiency and diminish the size of the housing and further, the smoke filter of this invention is simple in structure and convenient in maintenance and in replacement of the filtration cloth.

When the control unit determines based on the detection signal from the filter installation detection sensor that the filter is installed, the control unit causes the filter winding driving unit to rewind the filter by a predetermined amount and determines whether the filter is new or not based on the rewinding. By detecting filter replacement, information on the replaced filter can be reset.

A high-performance filter for an intake air for a gas turbine according to the present invention includes a low-efficiency filter media and a high-efficiency filter media superposed closely on each other in the named order from an upstream side in a direction of an air flow. Each of the filter media is formed with a filtering area of 20 to 35 m2. The filter media having a filtration efficiency of 40 to 70% for particles having a particle size of 0.3 nullm is disposed as a layer upstream in the air flow direction, and the filter media having a filtration efficiency of 90 to 99.99% for particles having a particle size of 0.3 nullm is disposed as a downstream layer. In addition, a filter unit according to the present invention is made using the above filter, Thus, even when the filter unit is used for atmospheric dusts including a high concentration of dusts having a particle size of 0.3 to 0.5 nullm, a life of 8,000 hours or more, and the deposition of the atmospheric dusts in an air compressor or the like in a conventional gas turbine plant can be alleviated, thereby preventing a reduction in power-generating output and ensuring that it is unnecessary over a long period of time to carry out the washing or cleaning of the air compressor and the like and the replacement of the filter. In addition, the filter unit can be placed in a reduced space.

The spindle is held within a vertically extending container secured to the side of the unit.
