    摘要： A lubrication package for lubrication of paper shredders wherein a lubricant is sandwiched between two coversheets which are sealed together near their peripheral edges to contain the lubricant. When the package is inserted into an operating paper shredder, the coversheets are shredded and release the lubricant to lubricate the shredding mechanism. The lubricant is prevented from all migrating towards one of the peripheral edges by interior seals that divide the package into at least two interior regions that do not contact sealed together peripheral edges of the package.

Maintenance and lubrication can be performed by applying lubrication agents to the cutting mechanism of a paper shredder without requiring disassembly of the paper shredder. The agents can also include scented agents and decomposing agents or a combination thereof. Lubrication sheets are configured to apply agents to the cutting mechanism of paper shredders. A holder can be positioned on a housing of a paper shredder for retaining one or more lubrication sheets within proximity of the shredding mechanism of the paper shredder. Paper shredders may include means for identifying when lubrication is needed and/or when the cutting mechanism of the paper shredder has been lubricated by a lubrication sheet.

The thickness detector device includes a detectable portion movable by the contact portion, and a detector for detecting at least one position of the detectable portion that includes a position when the detectable portion has been moved by the contact portion by an amount that correlates to a predetermined maximum thickness. A controller is coupled to the thickness detector, is operable to prevent a motor from driving cutter elements in a shredding direction responsive to the detector detecting that the detectable portion has been moved by the amount that correlates to the predetermined maximum thickness, and is configured to vary the predetermined maximum thickness based on receiving an input parameter.

    摘要： A lubricant sheet comprises a blank of material folded along a fold line into a folded configuration to form a lubricant containment pocket; a lubricant in the lubricant containment pocket; and a primary barrier for the lubricant. The primary barrier extends around and seals the lubricant containment pocket to hold the lubricant in the lubricant containment pocket. The blank of material includes a fold of material along the fold line forming a secondary barrier for the lubricant. When the lubricant in the lubricant containment pocket is being compressed during shredding of the lubricant sheet so as to cause some of the lubricant to be released through the primary barrier, the secondary barrier is configured to deflect the released lubricant that is released towards the secondary barrier.
