    摘要: A rotor is mounted in a stationary casing of a centrifugal separator. An electrical rotation sensor with a first electric coil mounted on the rotor and a second electric coil, connectable to a power source and mounted on the casing, is provided. A processor associated with the second coil detects voltage oscillation induced in the second coil when the rotor rotates to calculate and display rotor speed. The first coil is connected in a circuit including electrodes exposed to the interior of the rotor at a predetermined position. The voltage across the second coil changes when the electrodes are contacted by accumulated material in the interior of the rotor. This change is detected to provide an indication that cleaning of the rotor is required. A permanent magnet is mounted on the rotor and causes automatic charging of the battery via the stator coil when the rotor rotates.

    摘要: An improved centrifuge apparatus comprising a spindle with an affixed bowl and a drive shaft passing through the spindle with a plurality of scraper blades affixed which rotate within the bowl. The spindle is driven by a pulley with a belt attached to a motor. The centrifuge has a clutch mechanism which provides a positive lock to insure synchronous blade and bowl rotation during processing. The clutch mechanism comprises a shifting coupling attached to the drive shaft with a bottom set of teeth and a top set of teeth. The bottom set of teeth interlockingly engage a matching set of teeth located on either the pulley or the top of the spindle. The top set of teeth interlockingly engage a matching set of teeth that are either immovably attached to a plate or attached to a sprocket which is rotatably attached to the plate. The scraper blades have recesses in their front face to allow a variable cutting edge geometry and the mixing and matching of cutting edge geometry while permitting the use of the same base blade. The centrifuge has a tangential outlet and an annular housing to minimize spray and misting in the exiting centrifuged liquid.

    摘要: A method is provided to automatically control an infeed gate of a centrifuge to regulate the rate of incoming charge and thereby maintain a desired building rate for a charge wall being formed along inner sidewalls of a rotating centrifugal basket by measuring the charge wall thickness which forms, determining a fill rate at which the charge material enters the basket, and comparing the determined rate to a desired fill rate. Closure of the infeed gate is also controlled to gradually approach a minimum flow rate. A method is also provided for sensing an unstabilizing wobble of the centrifugal basket and closing the infeed gate in response. The automatic control of the opening and closing of the gate not only improves the capacity of the centrifuge, but also allows for remote operation.

A loading system has an ultrasonic loading probe, a sound tube for delivering the sound signals to the sugar wall and returning to the ultrasonic probe, an analog controllable feed valve and a programmable logic controller which is used to control the operation. The logic program implements a control loop which analyses the signal from the probe and controls the position of the gate accordingly. Preferably, the system also implements a control loop for automatic adjustment of the flow rate and amount of sugar in the machine in order to optimize the loading process.

    摘要: A method of operating a drum centrifuge having a foraminous drum rotatable about an axis it is centered on comprises first filling a charge of a suspension into the drum while rotating it about its axis so that the charge forms an annular stratified body having an inner surface and the liquid phase of the body passes radially outward and leaves behind the solid phase as a filter cake and then refilling at least one additional charge of a suspension into the drum onto the filter cake while rotating the drum as in the preceding filling step to add the solid phase of the additional charge to the cake already in the drum. Then at least periodically the radial position of the inner surface of the body in the drum is detected and the dry point when the liquid phase has substantially passed radially out of the drum is ascertained to generate outputs corresponding to the detected radial positions and the times same are detected. The filter cake is then washed by passing a wash liquid therethrough for a time determined by the outputs and thereafter the washed filter cake is centrifuged for a time determined by the outputs.
