Abstract:
Pump dispenser, particularly a movable-nozzle pump dispenser, is intended especially for use in dispensing oral medicines e.g. to children. One feature disclosed is a tooth or ratchet structure engageable between the plunger head and the pump cylinder body. This enables optional holding of the plunger at an intermediate position during a dispensing stroke, so that a dose can be given bit by bit. Other proposals are formations around the top of the cylinder body which interact with the inside of the plunger to control or limit movement of the plunger according to their relative rotational orientation. For example the plunger may be locked up unless turned forcibly past a rotational stop. A related feature is a spring lock tab preventing rotation of the plunger unless the tab is pressed to release it. The product container may contain balls to cause agitation.
Abstract:
A trigger pump dispenser has a dispensing passage, an outlet nozzle movable between an “on” position and an “off” position, and a shroud. First and second indicator tabs project from the outlet nozzle and correspond with first and second indicator windows in the shroud. When the outlet nozzle is in the “on” position, the first indicator tab resides in the first indicator window and the second indicator tab is hidden by the shroud, and when the outlet nozzle is in the “off” position, the second indicator tab resides in the second indicator window and the first indicator tab is hidden by the shroud.
Abstract:
For the straightforward, easy-to-assemble construction of a metering dispenser (1) for dispensing a substance consisting of a number of components, having at least two containers (6a, 6b) in an outer sleeve (8) for accommodating the components of the substance, and having a pumping unit (2a, 2b) on each of the containers (6a, 6b), and having an adjusting device (3), which makes it possible to adjust the quantity ratio of the components in relation to one another, and having a movable actuating device (4) for the pumping units (2a, 2b) and/or containers (6a, 6b), and having a dispenser element (5) for the substance which is to be dispensed by the metering dispenser (1), it is proposed to provide a force-transmission element (7), in particular in the form of an intermediate wall, which, with the actuating device (4) activated, can be displaced relative to the outer sleeve (8) and in the axial direction (A) of the metering dispenser (1).
Abstract:
A pump dispenser is intended for oral administration of medicines. A pump receives fluid product through a valved inlet from a container, preferably of the airless type with a follower piston. The dispenser may be a movable-nozzle or fixed-nozzle dispenser. The discharge outlet of the dispenser has a stub nozzle incorporating a closure valve. A spring urges the closure valve forward to close a discharge opening of the stub nozzle. The nozzle attachment is shaped for oral dosing and has an internal rearwardly-projecting actuating structure which, when the nozzle attachment is coupled onto the stub nozzle, pushes the closure valve open. When the nozzle attachment is removed the spring closes the outlet again. Child-resistant features are described for fitting the nozzle attachment to the stub nozzle.
Abstract:
A fluid dispenser contains and dispenses metered amounts of fluid, and in some embodiments comprises a reservoir for containing fluid; a chamber positioned substantially within the reservoir for containing a quantity of fluid; and a piston moveable within the chamber in a first direction to draw fluid into the chamber from the reservoir, and movable in a second direction to discharge a metered amount of fluid from the chamber. A user-manipulatable control can be coupled to the piston to move the piston with respect to the chamber, and in some cases to select the desired metered amount of fluid to be dispensed. Also, a pawl can be used to selectively permit and inhibit movement of the piston in the first and/or second directions to prevent partial doses from being dispensed from the fluid dispenser.
Abstract:
A fluid dispenser device comprising a body (1), a reservoir unit (3) comprising a reservoir containing one dose or two half-doses of fluid, a dispensing member such as a piston (8) mounted to move axially inside the reservoir (3) between a rest position and a dispensing position, and an actuating element (5) that is mounted to move between a rest position and an actuating position, said fluid dispenser device being characterized in that said actuating element (5) is disposed laterally, and has an end portion provided with a cam surface (6) which cooperates with said dispensing member (8) or said reservoir unit (3), said actuating element (5) being moved in a direction that is different from, and in particular substantially perpendicular to, the axial direction in which the dispensing member (8) moves relative to the reservoir.
Abstract:
A system releases spray fluid in different mass flow rates. The system includes an actuator having a first area and a second area, a stem connected to the actuator and having a first orifice and a second orifice, a gasket covering the first orifice and the second orifice in a non-actuated position, and a biased member biasing the stem to the non-actuated position. When the first area of the actuator is pressed, the stem moves a first distance relative to the gasket to uncover the second orifice and compressing the biased member to spray fluid with a first mass flow rate. When the second area of the actuator is pressed, the stem moves a second distance relative to the gasket to uncover the first orifice and the second orifice to spray fluid with a second mass flow rate greater than the first mass flow rate.
Abstract:
The present application discloses liquid dispensers, refill units for liquid dispensers, liquid pumps, lost motion devices, and methods for installing a refill unit and lost motion device. In certain embodiments, a liquid dispenser of the present application comprises a container for holding a liquid, a pump housing connected to the container, a liquid or air chamber, and a piston movable in the liquid or air chamber. A connector is linked to the piston. The connector has a flexible portion for connecting to the piston and an attachment portion for attaching to an actuator of the dispenser. A restrictor is positioned between the flexible portion of the connector and the piston. Movement of the connector a first distance in a first direction results in lost motion between the actuator and the piston and continued movement of the connector a second distance in the first direction moves the piston with the actuator.
