The method includes tumbling the polysilicon material in a tumbling device. The tumbling device includes a tumbler drum having one or more lifting vanes spaced apart from one another and extending longitudinally along an interior surface of the tumbler drum. The lifting vanes facilitate separation of polysilicon powder and granules as the tumbler drum is rotated about its longitudinal axis of rotation.

    摘要: An apparatus for recovering and cleaning contaminated abrasive blast media. The blast media is transported in a vacuum airstream to a rotatable drum. Within the rotatable drum is a blocking assembly which selectively channels high-velosity air through an upper region of the rotatable drum and restricts the flow of air through a lower region of the drum. The blast media is repeatedly scooped up and dropped to the high-velocity airstream, thus subjecting it to repeated air-washing. The blocking member includes a flexible member which provides both the open channel region and the restriction to the airflow under the force of gravity as the drum rotates. The abrasive blast media is thus assured of being adequately washed even if the air velocity varies randomly during the cleaning of the blast media.

    摘要: An air classifier for separating light reusable materials from a stream of non-shredded solid waste is provided. The air classifier employs two operating phases. The first operating phase, the desired light fraction is entrained in an air stream and is conveyed above the remainder of the solid waste. The waste material is then received by a second conveyor so that the lighter fraction is received on top of the heavier fraction. Thus, the first phase of the apparatus effects mass stratification. During the second operating phase, the light fraction is actually removed from the heavy fraction by a high velocity air stream which is preferably induced by a reducing cross-section portion of the apparatus. The air flow through the apparatus is captured and recycled and the light fraction being separated therefrom in, for example, a cyclone.

    摘要: A drum for separation of a bulk material into a heavier and a lighter fraction is arranged to be rotated around its central axis at a certain velocity and to be traversed by a flow of air at a certain flow velocity. The drum has at least one discharge aperture for the heavier fraction and at least one discharge aperture for the lighter fraction further on in the drum in the direction of the air flow. In at least one portion of the drum (2) between the said discharge aperture for the heavier fraction and the said discharge aperture for the lighter fraction the drum is provided with rearward-feeding transport members in the form of inwardly-directed spirals (27) fastened to the inside of the drum and arranged so that during rotation of the drum material is transported in the thread turns (28) between the spirals to the rear towards the said discharge aperture for the heavier fraction, also lifters (29, 30) for the bulk material arranged in the thread turns (27) and designed as barriers to prevent continued rearward feed of the bulk material in the thread turns concerned. The lifters are arranged in groups along the portion involved of the drum around the inside of the drum, and the groups can contain the same or different numbers of lifters and be arranged having the same or different pitch between the groups, but the distance (L) between the groups is such and the number of thread turns provided with lifters in each group is such that during each revolution of the drum on the whole more material of the heavier fraction is fed to the rear through each group via the free thread turns than is raised up by the lifters in the thread turns in the next following group, viewed in the direction of air flow, which is blocked off by lifters and at the air velocity which is matched to suit drum diameter is blown some distance to the rear by the air flow when it drops down from the lifter as the drum rotates, whilst the lighter fraction is blown further forward so that the forward feed of this fraction is much greater than the rearward feed in the thread turns.

    摘要: A drum screen for cleaning and classifying wood chips is mounted for rotation. The screen has apertures of varying size to permit cleaned chips to pass through to be deposited on conveyors located below. An internal annular spiral baffle extends the full length of the drum and a series of chip lifters are located between the flights of the spiral baffle and project radially inwards from the interior surface of the drum. Wood chips are fed into the drum at one end and are carried through the drum while being lifted towards the axis of the drum by the chip lifters to effect loosening of waste material from the chips. Cleaned chips pass through the apertures in the drum and chips too large to pass through are carried forward and discharged from the end of the drum onto a conveyor. A casing surrounds the upper portion of the drum and partially encloses the discharge end of the drum. An air suction device is connected to the discharge end of the drum, drawing off all waste material loosened from the chips.
