The actuator is able to reversibly displace the plates and the trolley between a first position wherein the plates and the trolley are close to the straightening machine and a second position wherein the plates and the trolley are spaced apart from the straightening machine.

In case of routine maintenance, the cartridge (3) is pulled out laterally with the yoke support of the vertical axis roll anchored to the cartridge itself as the other roll supports.

The disassembly apparatus includes: a handling frame, including a positioning and moving device for moving and positioning same; a mobile shuttle capable of moving over the frame, wherein the shuttle includes an extraction device which can be moved by a moving member and which can disassemble the roll stand or assemble a cluster and/or a lateral supporting cylinder on it. The extraction device includes an upper crossbeam rigidly connected, via a movable strut, to a lower crossbeam. Each of the crossbeams have, at each of their ends, a movable gripping plate including at least one locking bolt. The gripping plates of a single crossbeam are configured to grip at least one cluster and/or at least one lateral supporting cylinder by actuating the locking bolt.

The invention relates to a rolling mill defining a rolling axis and comprising rolling stations. At least one rolling station comprises a fixed structure, a roll-holder cartridge and three actuators. The cartridge is connected removably to the fixed structure and comprises three rolling rolls. The rolls are movable radially and rotatable about three respective axes. Three actuators of the single-stroke type are mounted on the fixed structure and comprise pistons movable along respective radial axes to impart a force on the rolls for rolling an article. Three gearmotors provide the rolls, by means of spindles, with the torque for feeding the article along the rolling axis. When two pistons are completely retracted, a path is created free from obstacles allowing the cartridge to pass out laterally. Then, one spindle may be subject to a rotation-translation to be removed from the path, the respective gearmotor being fixed on its base.

Said device comprise a roll-changing pit that extends transversely to the roll direction of the roll stand, form the roll stand towards the roll workshop, and has displacement devices for at least one pair or set of dismantled back-up or work rolls (4a, 4b), and a roll-changing stand (8) that is arranged transversely to the roll-changing pit in the roll workshop and can be moved across said pit in or away from the roll direction of the roll stand. The aim of the invention is to enable the time required for a back-up roll change to be reduced and the back-up roll change to be simplified. To this end, the roll-changing stand (8) comprises two roll-receiving regions (13, 14) that have an especially U-shaped cross-section and are arranged at a distance from each other in the roll direction of the roll stand, said regions each comprising both bearing surfaces (15, 16) for receiving work rolls (4a, 4b) and bearing surfaces (17, 18) for receiving back-up rolls.
