    摘要: The underlying invention relates in particular to a forming machine, having an electromagnetic linear motor with a linear mover and multiple coil units each with a predetermined coil pole pitch (S) which is measured in the direction of the movement axis. The linear mover includes, in an alternating arrangement along the longitudinal axis (L) thereof, first permanent magnets which are magnetized transversely to the longitudinal axis with a predetermined first magnetic pitch (T1) and second permanent magnets which are magnetized in the direction of the longitudinal axis (L) with a predetermined second magnetic pitch (T2), wherein a ratio of coil width (S) to first magnetic pitch (T1) is 3:1, and wherein a ratio of first magnetic pitch (T1) to second magnetic pitch (T2) is 2:1.

    摘要: A ram assembly for an electromagnetic work tool which includes a ram shaft, conductive driving plate, and insulator plug, which elements are bonded together to form an integral ram assembly thereby reducing shear stress on the insulator plug since no counterbores or screws are utilized in the ram assembly. The insulator plug utilizes a composite of unidirectional glass fibers in an epoxy matrix, which glass fibers are oriented parallel to the axis of the ram shaft thereby providing superior load distribution of the insulator plug. A reduced number of interfaces in the ram assembly provides less interfaces for reflection of shock waves.

    摘要: An opposed current flow magnetic pulse forming and joining system in electrical communication with a magnetic pulse power supply having a positive connection and a negative connection. The system may be used in forming individual workpieces or joining multiple workpieces, including joining by magnetic pulse welding. The system includes a first section, a second section, an insulator, and a first and a second pair of conductors. The first and second sections cooperate to enclose the workpiece(s) and function to create an electromagnetic force similar to that produced by a single closed coil. The system is configured to achieve desirable current flow by minimizing inductance, inductive reactance, and impedance in the conductors. The pairs of conductors may incorporate closely spaced individual conductors, braided conductors, and coaxial conductors. The current flow in the individual conductors of each pair of conductors is opposed, as is the current flow through the sections.

    摘要: Method for forming or deforming a metal workpiece by passing a stress wave through the metal workpiece sufficient to render it momentarily plastic. The apparatus is basically comprised of a stress wave focusing device or amplifier. In operation, a workpiece is placed in a die or shaping means. The stress wave amplifier is then arranged to direct or focus the stress wave to the metal workpiece. Next, a stress wave is generated and passed through the stress wave focusing device, imparting a momentary state of plasticity to the metal workpiece.

    摘要: A riveting device for the riveting of components in an overlap joint, with an upper tool for driving a rivet into a rivet hole passing through the components, and with a lower tool as a dolly, which has a deforming section for purposes of plastically deforming the end of a rivet shaft driven through the rivet hole, wherein the riveting device has a magazine with a feed device for purposes of feeding a rivet into a shot passage of the upper tool, an actuator for purposes of accelerating the rivet introduced into the shot passage of the upper tool in the direction of the components, and an adjustment system for purposes of aligning the shot channel with the rivet hole. Also disclosed is a method for the riveting of components in an overlap joint.
