    摘要: A spindle attachment includes a device body having an attachment surface detachably attached to an end face of a spindle head. Fixed and movable teeth move the body in a direction of an axial line of the spindle to engage the spindle head and the body so as to freely restrict or release rotation of the body with respect to the spindle head. A coil spring urges the body so that the attachment surface is pressed onto the end face of the spindle head with the fixed and movable teeth ready for engagement. A pressure cylinder causes fluid pressure to act on the attachment surface against the spring force to release engagement between the fixed and movable teeth. A key and a key groove transmit rotation of the spindle to the body with the fluid pressure of the cylinder acting on the attachment surface of the device body.

    摘要: A tool retention mechanism is disclosed for clamping a tool holder knob. An elongate rod member is supported lengthwise in a compartment formed within the center of an elongate housing. A knob clamping assembly is mounted on the outer end of the rod member and is constructed of a circular array of claw fingers that are spring biased to urge them to move radially inward. A first piston is slideably supported on the actuator rod rearwardly of the claw fingers and has a cylindrical collar portion which slides over the claw fingers to retain them in a knob clamping position. A second piston is secured to the inner end portion of the actuator rod and slideably supported in the compartment to define a closed chamber with the inner closed end of the compartment. A first set of belleville spring washers is mounted on the actuator rod between the first and second pistons to bias the first piston to the knob holding position, and a second set of belleville washers is coaxially disposed relative to the first set of belleville washers between an annular shoulder formed in the compartment and the second piston to effect a large force on the actuator rod in a direction towards the closed end of the compartment. A fluid control means is provided for selectively driving the second piston a slight distance to overcome the force exerted by the outer set of belleville washers and to simultaneously drive the first piston inwardly of the compartment and move the cylindrical collar portion inwardly of the claw fingers to free them to open.

    摘要: A tool or workpiece holder retention mechanism which engagably retains the holder retention portion of the holder by creating a clamping force which draws the holder retention portion into a cooperatively formed area between two retaining jaws. Two abutting surfaces, one on the holder and one on the abutting surface on the retention mechanism housing, have formed thereon cooperatively engagable surfaces at least one of which is generally spirally formed, which meshedly engage to self-center the tool holder. Preferably the cooperatively engagable surfaces are in the form of mating spiral gear teeth specifically the jaws and the holder retention portion are constructed and actuated so as to be radially freely floatable to avoid interference with the self-centering function of the mating spiral surfaces.

    摘要: A tool changeover holder for machine tools has a rotationally driven spindle and a replaceable tool head that can be fixed thereto. The rotationally driven spindle has on the tool side a central journal, a chucking devoce and an annular face that surrounds this concentrically. The tool head has a central drilling to accommodate the spindle journal and an annular matching surface that surrounds the drilling concentrically. The spindle face and the matching surfaces have inversely congruent centering and torque-transmitting means that engage in each other in the chucked position. Hirth serration elements are arranged on the face of the spindle in a plurality of annular-sector shaped serration sections that lie on an annulus that is concentric with the axis of the spindle. These are separated from each other by the flat contact surface sections.

    摘要: A quick change tool holder of the block tool type wherein a tool nose assembly is releasably secured to a drive member at an interface plane. A bayonet subassembly extends coaxially from the drive member by some predetermined distance and is receivable in an axially extending socket in the tool nose. The bayonet subassembly is selectively rotatable relative to the drive member between engaged and disengaged conditions with the tool nose socket. The distance that the bayonet subassembly extends from the drive member is selectively adjustable for insuring that the bayonet securely engages with the socket.
