    摘要: A pair of gripping sections performs opening and closing operations along a base member through displacement of a piston by means of a pressure fluid supplied to a chuck body. A pair of fingers, which constitute the gripping sections, is openable and closable in directions perpendicular to opening/closing directions of the gripping sections, by means of a driving force supplied from a driving section. The gripping sections are positioned with respect to a workpiece by actuating the pair of fingers to perform the opening/closing operation. Thereafter, by supplying the pressure fluid, the workpiece is gripped at a desired gripping position by means of the gripping sections.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for automated loading, unloading and registration of a cylinder in an engraver. The method and apparatus permit the engraver to accommodate cylinders of differing geometries, including a range of lengths, diameters and mounting configurations. The engraver includes a headstock and a tailstock which cooperate to rotatably support a cylinder at an engraving station in the engraver. The engraver also includes a cylinder handling system having at least one cylinder support for supporting the cylinder between the headstock and tailstock during loading and unloading of the cylinder. The cylinder handling system is responsive to at least one parameter, such as a cylinder diameter, to automatically register the cylinder at the engraving station. In one form, the cylinder supports each include telescoping support member having a support nest for engaging and supporting the cylinder at the engraving station. In another form, the cylinder supports each include a support housing and a support structure mounted to the support housing. In this form, the support structure includes at least one cylinder receiving area. Selection may be made between plural cylinder receiving areas for receiving cylinders of different dimensions.

    摘要: An apparatus utilizes fluid pressure measurements to sense sufficient chucking stock for a chuck with work gripping surfaces. A flexible seal cooperates with a workpiece at a location proximal to the chuck jaws to restrict flow of a pressurized fluid. Flow resistance varies at this location with the presence or absence of sufficient chucking stock. A pressure switch senses the resulting fluid backpressure which varies with the resistance of the flow path and generates a signal indicative of the presence or absence of sufficient chucking stock which is used to control functions of a machine tool.

    摘要: A chuck with automatic positioning collet is provided. The chuck includes a rotation member, over which a stationary member is sleeved. A piston is arranged inside the rotation member by means of a slidable sleeve that includes an internal thread screwed to an external thread of a collet. The rotation member includes an elastic piston pin assembly selectively alignable with a positioning groove of the collet. The stationary member is provided with two gas passages through which gas introduced may drive the piston to move in opposite directions so as to move the slidable sleeve and the collet in opposite directions to cause a tapering hole of the rotation member to loop tightly up or release the collet and an object received in the collet and the gas simultaneously drives the elastic piston pin assembly to position the positioning groove of the collet.

    摘要: A coupling fixture for reciprocal connection between two components rotating in opposite directions to one another, with a drive element and an axially adjustable coupling element in a rotationally fixed connection with the drive element or one of the two components. The two components are locked together directly, or by the coupling element, and the locking is released by moving the coupling element axially. Thereby rendering it possible to establish connection without the need for special controls and/or synchronisation of the components to be connected. Switching operations can be performed when the drive element and the coupling element are being driven with different speeds of rotation. It is thus possible to achieve a reliable and trouble-free operating method of the coupling fixture over a long period of time.

Even if holding force, such as the oil pressure of the workpiece holding member, is lowered, the decrease of the holding force of the workpiece can be extremely avoided by moving the sliding members in the direction of the workpiece.
