Abstract:
Provided is a slitter device capable of quickly supplying metal bands to a cutter stand and cutting same into strips with high speed and accuracy. The metal band slitter device comprises an unwinder that unwinds a metal band wound into a coil, a cutter stand that cuts the unwound metal band into narrow width strips, and a winder that winds the cut metal band into coils. The metal band slitter device is configured to comprise a tension adjustment unit on the winder side between the unwinder and the cutter stand that provides a constant tension to the metal band and a tension separating unit on the cutter stand side that separates the constant tension on the input side and tension on the output side.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a photovoltaic cell array of the type comprising a primary electrode array and a counter-electrode array together defining a series-connected sequence of cells, each containing electrolyte which is insulated from direct electrical contact with the electrolyte of neighbouring cells, the method comprising: (a) depositing electrolyte into the cells; and (b) sensing the level of electrolyte deposited.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a planographic printing plate manufacturing apparatus comprising: a cutting process section which cuts a web in a thickness direction of the web by pinching the web with at least a pair of an upper knife and a lower knife, wherein the lower knife includes a flat part supporting a center of the web, a decline part gradually declined an upper end toward outside from the flat part and a cutting edge part having an upper end gradually raised toward outside from the decline part to be a cutting edge, an angle of the lower knife at a boundary point between the decline part and the flat part is 135° or more, a boundary point between the decline part and the cutting edge part is provided so as to be greater or equal to a droop width of a lower surface of a cut product.
Abstract:
In a cutting apparatus for cutting a printed metal sheet (1) into a number of individual sheet metal blanks (A1-A6, B1-B6, C1-C6), a conveyor-path switch (9) for removing blanks with defective printing from the conveyor path is provided for separating each blank chosen at the blank discharge point. The conveyor-path switches are selectively activated by a control unit (6). This enables individual blanks to be discarded, thus reducing machine down time and waste of material due to sheets with defective printing.
Abstract:
The housing of a metal-working machine is comprised of a pair of parallel, vertically oriented, laterally spaced, smooth-surfaced plates that define a work zone at the upper end of the housing. Components of the machine are conveniently mounted within the space between the housing plates, which plates provide square reference and guide surfaces therefor, and the machine may be of modular construction.
Abstract:
An apparatus for slitting sheet material to a desired width includes laterally spaced circular slitter knives each fixed to a hub mounted on a rotatable shaft, each said hub being an hydraulic hub adapted to be expanded to permit axial movement on the shaft by injecting hydraulic fluid into an annular groove in the inside diameter of the hub. The novel feature comprises spacer rollers between the slitter knives to support the sheet material, these spacer rollers being arranged in cooperating pairs with each spacer roller comprising an annular hub portion with a plurality of equally spaced projections extending in an axial direction from at least one annular face of said hub. The projections are adapted to slidably mate with like projections of a cooperating spacer roller and each spacer roller hub is adapted to be expanded to permit axial movement thereof on the shaft by injecting hydraulic fluid into an annular groove in the inside diameter of the spacer roller knife hub.
Abstract:
A slitting machine of the type having a pair of spaced, parallel arbors and at least one pair of mating rotary knives, each arbor carrying one mate of each pair of rotary knives, each rotary knife being positioned in a desired axial relationship with its mate on the other arbor, this desired relationship being maintained by manual or automatic control of the relative positions of the arbors by rotatably mounting at least one end of at least one arbor in a slideable sleeve which may be cam driven in both axial directions. Axial backlash is reduced by maintaining the arbors in compression with a spring loaded tailstock.
Abstract:
A sled which is mounted between an uncoiler and a multiple-head or arbor type slitter and which carries a pair of pinch rolls and a peeler. The sled is adapted for longitudinal movement between the slitter and the uncoiler to allow indexing of the slitter arbors and feeding of the coil initially into the slitter.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for splitting a single metal rod into three equal cross-section areas by passing the rod through pairs of rollers to form three connected equal areas, but not identically shaped strands, then applying a separating force to separate the rods into individual lengths.
Abstract:
An arbor slitter for use in a slitting line, the arbor slitter having at least two pairs of cooperating, blade-carrying arbors. The inboard ends of the arbors of each arbor pair are supported by an inboard bearing housing. The inboard bearing housings of the arbor pairs are mounted on a common base having caster means resting upon a smooth upper surface of a portion of the slitter frame. The base by virtue of its caster means is both shiftable and positionable along this upper surface of the slitter frame so that each arbor pair can be shifted between a working position and a set-up position. The slitter frame has an outboard bearing housing movable thereon into and out of engagement with the outboard ends of the arbors of each arbor pair when in the working position.
