Abstract:
A shredder comprising a frame, at least two rotatable shafts supported in parallel by the frame, a plurality of cutting blades, each of the blades including a mount which is fixed to one of the shafts and has an outer peripheral side, and a number of tip pieces, each tip piece being fixed to the peripheral side of the mount, and a plurality of spacers mounted on each of the shafts alternately with the blades such that the spacers on each of the shafts are radially aligned with the blades on the other shaft.
Abstract:
Dado shims that are disks of substantially incompressible, flexible, color coded plastic sheet material of uniform predetermined thicknesses having a central arbor hole and a radial slot narrower in width than the arbor hole diameter so that each shim is shaped like the letter "C" and can be distorted slightly during positioning on a saw arbor between dado set blades without removing any of the blades, by slipping the shim over the arbor through the slot until the shim seats on the arbor within the shim arbor hole.
Abstract:
Parallel spaced rotary arbors support a plurality of axially spaced circular slitter knives, and a series of spacer rings precisely locate the slitter knives on each arbor. Each spacer ring includes a rigid carrier ring having three circumferentially spaced undercut cavities which confine corresponding floating gage blocks each having a precision axial width slightly greater than the axial width of the carrier ring. The carrier rings on each arbor are rotatably aligned by a keyway and include a pair of flat ring sections each having circumferentially spaced tapered holes which mate with corresponding chamfered surfaces on the gage blocks. The ring sections are secured together by screws or spot welds, and the wider spacer rings have corresponding core rings confined between the ring sections.
Abstract:
A machine for cutting slabs of frozen meat into cubes comprises a rotating cutting drum having alternatingly disposed slitting discs and knife discs. The slitting discs have a contour to minimize the risk of fracturing upon penetration into the meat in that the slicing edge thereof extends over a substantial portion of their circumference and slices the slab into a plurality of strips which are cut into cubes by the knife discs.
Abstract:
An apparatus for separating conductors of a ribbon cable comprising a pair of fixed rollers having a plurality of radial intermeshing teeth spaced to engage the conductors.
Abstract:
Apparatus for punching holes in sheet material is provided. At least one cutting knife is mounted for rotation about a first axis. A punching surface of the knife includes end edges that protrude further from the axis than the side edges of the punching surface to permit the end edges to penetrate the sheet material before the side edges sever the sheet material. A cylindrical roll having a groove extending about its circumference is mounted for rotation about a second axis that is parallel to said first axis. The groove forms a pair of continuous cutting edges positioned in cooperative shearing relationship with the side edges of the punching surface of the knife. The new cutting method performed by the apparatus comprises first penetrating the sheet material with the end edges of the punching surface of the knife to form end cut lines which are longitudinally spaced in the sheet material, and then shearing the sheet material along a pair of side cut lines with each side cut line connecting a pair of laterally aligned ends of the end cut lines.
