    摘要: A bimodal tile saw includes a tray supported on a base extending in a first direction and a water-cooled saw unit suspended from a telescoping arm. Both the tray and the saw unit move relative to the base along the first direction. In a first mode, the saw unit is fixed and the substrate is fed to the saw unit by advancing the tray. In a second mode, the table is fixed and the telescoping arm is advanced using ergonomic handles to bring the blade into contact with the substrate. A laser cutting guide casts a precise beam across the work piece for accurate cutting. An integrated handtruck, having a handle and folding legs actuated by gas pistons allows easy transport and setup of the tile saw. During use, a retractable foot elevates the wheels off of the ground. Water shields protect the saw unit's motor and external environment.

Integrally mounted wheels provide means for easily moving the invention from one place to another. The invention's small size and light weight allow it to be stored when not in use.

    摘要: A motorized miter box or saw comprising a cuttinghead handle for guiding the movement of the saw between a raised, rest position and a lowered, operational position. The cuttinghead handle is adjustably coupled to the cuttinghead so that the orientation of the cuttinghead handle with respect to a user of the saw can be adjusted by the user between a first position and a second position. The first position has a preferred orientation for the user when the saw is located on a floor or at a similar elevation and the user is kneeling or similarly located at floor level. The second position has a preferred orientation for the user when the saw is located on a bench or similar elevated structure and the user is standing or similarly located in front of the saw.The disclosed motorized miter box also comprises a carrying handle for use by a user in carrying the miter box between work sites. The carrying handle protrudes from the rear of the miter box base. The carrying handle comprises a support surface located in the same geometric plane as the lower surface of the base so that the carrying handle helps prevent the miter box saw from tipping backwards if the cuttinghead apparatus is allowed to move freely from its lowered, operational position to its upper, at rest position.

    摘要: A portable sawing device having a frame attachable by clamping means against the underside of a workpiece support bench. A portable circular power saw is supported on and engaged by an adapter plate hinged to a bearing plate at the forward part of a supporting arm. The adapter plate with the saw is movable about the horizontal hinge axis, between a lowered cutting position and a raised, tilted-up, non-cutting position, and is spring biased upwardly. The supporting arm comprises two concentric telescoped cylinders: the inner, bearing the saw, is rotatable within the outer and lockable thereto for bevel cutting; the outer is cantilevered forwardly from a support column vertically disposed behind the bench. The column is carried by a horizontal cross member secured between the ends of two parallel rods horizontally and forwardly disposed beneath the frame and slidably mounted in sleeves which are secured to a plate rotatably and lockably attached to the frame. The saw and arm reciprocate as a unit and the arm may be rotated about a vertical axis and locked to align the saw along desired cutting angles. The adapter plate and saw may be rotated with the attached bearing plate about a vertical axis to a rip cutting position perpendicular to the saw supporting arm and by means provided restrained in the lowered cutting position.
